The lights were down except for the coloured strobes and the dance floor was packed with writhing, sweaty bodies. Tosh is dancing in the middle of it all, wearing clothes that she thinks would give her co-workers a massive heart attack to even imagine her in. Gwen, the new girl, asked what they all do to relax. Tosh didn't say anything, thinking that she couldn't give away her secret. Going clubbing is her coping mechanism. When the Weevils kill people and she had to concoct elaborate moves to cover it all up, Tosh went clubbing. When Suzie killed herself because her job became too much for her to handle, Tosh went clubbing. When she went back over the CCTV footage and saw Jack be shot in the head by Suzie, then stand back up like nothing was wrong, Tosh went clubbing.

Throwing herself into the loud music and dancing bodies was her escape from the fantastical reality she lived in everyday. She never drank or went home with anybody, let alone took anybody home, but she could just walk into a club, make her way to the dance floor and just let loose. All the stress of the day would melt into a pool at her feet, as if the sweat washed it all away. There were no computers to work on, no alien tech to investigate, no Owen making her lose her focus when he stretched his arms over his head and his t-shirt rode up high enough to give her a peek at his abs. There was no new girl, no Jack being crude and mysterious, no Ianto hovering over her shoulder as he pretended to not be reading her reports, making her feel like he knew everything she was thinking. She felt like a normal young woman and she reveled in the feeling. Just then her mobile went off and she read the screen. Jack. She made her way off the dance floor and out of the club before she answered. "Yes?"

"We've got reports of alien tech, we need our resident genius." He paused, "Are you at a party?"

Tosh pretended she wasn't annoyed at the tone of surprise in his voice. "No. It's in the next apartment over. Makes it very difficult to concentrate on my book. I almost didn't even hear the phone."

"Huh. All right then. Meet at the Hub in five minutes."

"Can it be ten, Jack? I've got to change. Already had my pajamas on and everything," Tosh lied easily.

"Sure. See you then," he hung up.

Tosh hurried back to her apartment to change into clothes more suited to running around Cardiff chasing aliens. She stepped under the shower for a minute to wash the sweat and make-up off, then hurried to the Hub.
