I was in the kitchen cooking dinner when my son, Anthony, came running in.
"Mommy! Mommy! You have a letter! Read! Read!" He cheered, while holding up a white envelope.
Anthony was a splitting image as his father. Bronze hair, green eyes always smiling. When I saw his green eyes I immediately wanted to name father his father, Anthony.
I picked Anthony up and seated him on the counter, then began to read from the letter aloud.
"Dear Mr. and Mrs. Masen,
We would like to formally invite you to Forks High School Reunion. A chance to catch up and talk to old friends…" I continued reading until the last two lines.
"Sincerely, Mr. Banner (principal) Wow, Mr. Banner became a principal? I would have never thought…"
"Who is Mr. Banner, Mommy?" Anthony said.
I smiled and said "My high school Biology teacher, He invited me and daddy to a reunion,"
"What is a re-onion?"
"A Re-union is when you gather with old friends and discuss that you have been up to in the past few years,"
"Can I go? Can I? Can I?"
"Hmmm… I'll have to discuss this with your father. Until then, wash up and get ready for supper,"
"Okay mommy" Anthony said as he hopped off the counter and ran up stairs.
At that moment, the front door creaked opened and I smile. I continued stirring until I felt two hands slip around my waist.
"I love you, Bella," My husband, Edward said.
"I love you more than you can imagine, Edward. Or should I say Romeo." When we were in High School, we were pared together for a Romeo and Juliet project and were to present the balcony scene. One night after coming home from bowling, Edward appeared at my window and gave me a rose while reciting all Romeo's lines. Ever since, we've been inseparable… Except when I had to go to the bathroom and sleep… but only because my father wouldn't allow that.
"Hmmm, Guess what?" I said turning around to him.
"We won the lottery?!" Edward said, jokingly.
I raised my eye brow at him and he shrugged.
"What? You said to guess,"
I shook my head and smile, "No, but we got an invitation to a High School reunion,"
"And… you want to go…?"
"YES! This will be great! It's a chance to catch up!"
"Bella, I hate to break it to you, but we live in a small town, every one we new from high school catches up with each other every other day…" He said with a smirk plastered on his face.
"Yeah, but we see them briefly and we barely ever stop to talk AND just this one… please?" I said giving him the puppy dog pout.
"Fine. But where is Anthony going to go?" He asked.
"With us! C'mon it'll give us a chance to show off out little baby boy!"
"I'm not a baby!" Anthony exclaim as he came into the kitchen.
"Guess what Anthony?" I asked.
"We won the lottery?" He said. Okay, wow, now he and his father have absolutely NO differences.
I glared and Edward before turning back to Anthony and saying "No, but you're coming to my high school reunion. You'll meet some of our old friends and probably make new friends," I smiled.
"Sorry mom, but that sounds kind of boring,"
I sighed "And… we'll buy you ice cream,"
"Okay!"
"So it's settled, we're going to the reunion!"
