Chapter 1

It was the summer of 2010. The birds were chirping. The bees were buzzing. The flowers were blooming. It was a beautiful season so far. I was glad we were out of spring, because where I live, summer is the only season where the sun's rays hit the earth, warming it like fresh pie in the oven. I loved the outdoors, especially the nature around us. My fiancee hates nature. We are so different from each other, but people say that's what makes us a pair. I don't believe that. One time, when I was outside doing my gardening, he killed a beautiful bumblebee who was minding its own business. "Phil, why would you do that? He wasn't hurting nobody!" I told him. "It's just a stupid bee! Who cares?" He said to me rolling his poop-brown eyes. "I care! You can't kill a bee for no reason!" I said angrily. "Whatever," he said while walking away. He can be an idiot sometimes. When my flashback was over, I decided to head over to Starbucks. 'Mm mm, coffee,' I thought to myself. When I parked, I headed inside with a smile on my face. I took in the aroma of fresh coffee in the air. I headed to the worker at the counter, and told him, "May I have a caramel cappuccino with whip cream please?" The man said, "Coming right up." I stood by the counter, desperate to take my first sip of the cappuccino. When the man brought it to me, I nearly jumped with joy. I turned around for a second and saw the most handsome man I've ever seen. He was quietly sipping his cup of coffee, texting. I couldn't get my eyes off of him. It felt like my heart was pounding through my chest. "Hello? Ma'am?" I thought I heard the guy say. I snapped out of my daydream only to realize it was the man behind the counter trying to get my attention. "What?" I said confused. "I said, that'll be 2.50 please," the counter guy said, sounding annoyed "Oh, right. Sorry," I said. I rummaged through my purse and gave him $3.00. He opened the register and pulled out a dollar in change. "Thank you," I said grabbing the dollar and the cappuccino. I turned around only to find that the man wasn't there. I felt disappointed. I started walking towards the tables, and I saw his phone and coffee was still there. I smiled to myself. I sat at the table across from where he was sitting. I took my first sip and I instantly fell in love with it. The taste and the texture. I saw the guy walk out of the bathroom heading towards his table. My heart started racing as he sat back down from where he was. I decided to take another sip of my cappuccino. I looked up and saw him staring at me with a smile on his face. He quickly looked away. "Are you staring at me?" I said to him. He replied nervously saying "I, uh, um, sorry." I laughed and said, "Its fine, its fine." I walked over to his table and said "I'm Emily. What's your name?" "Toby," he said with a smile that could light up a room. "It's nice to meet you 'Toby'," I said smiling. "You too," he said. I looked at the time. It read 2:00pm. I needed to be home at 2:30pm. "Well, I better go. I have to be home at 2:30 to get ready for a party," I said. I felt bad for leaving so soon.

Author's note: I'm sorry if it's the chapter's too short. I'll write more soon. I PROMISE! Chapter 2 will be much better! So, yesterday my school had a firework show. I sat close where the fireworks were. It literally sounded like an explosion each time a firework went in the air! The grand finale was LOUD! 0.0
