A/N: This is my first fanfic, so I'd really appreciate some reviews! Thanks for reading!

Valentine's Day was a pointless holiday. It was just an excuse for couples to spend the entire day snogging and a way for them to mock the people who didn't have someone to spend it with.

Like her.

Hermione scowled. If Ron hadn't gone off with that sorry excuse for a girlfriend, he would have been able to see Hermione's agony. He would have gone with her instead of that Lavender Brown.

But he didn't.

A tear rolled down her cheek, and before she could stop herself, she was sobbing uncontrollably. The tears wouldn't stop coming, and she spent a good hour crying. Finally able to get a hold of herself, she opened the door and walked into the Head common room.

Draco looked up as she walked in, and instantly knew something was wrong. He jumped up and ran over to her. "Hermione, what's wrong?"

She shook her head, saying, "Nothing, Draco. It's fine."

He wouldn't give up though. "No Hermione, tell me. I won't give up until you tell me," he chuckled.

When he said that, it reminded Hermione of Ron and the way he gave up on her for Lavender. Just when she thought he couldn't cry any more, the tears pricked at her eyes, and she found herself crying her eyes out.

Again.

But this time, it was different. She had Draco, his strong, lean arms wrapped around her as sobs wracked her body and as he whispered words of comfort into her hair. She had Draco, a guy she could talk to, a guy she knew would cheer her up when things were bad and bring her back to life.

In that moment, she realized that he was more than her mortal enemy who she had gotten to know this year and became close friends with. She realized that she was in love with him.

She gasped, and Draco gently pulled her back to look at her face. "What happened? Are you okay?" he asked urgently.

Hermione just smiled, and leaned forward. "Happy Valentine's Day," she murmured, before kissing him.
