Damn Mosquitoes!

On the first night of the camping trip he had taken with his best friends, Terry Boot was awakened by a blunt pain in his back.

"Ow, ow!" he shouted.

He sat up quickly and looked from side to side. Anthony Goldstein, who was sleeping on Terry's right side, was clutching a rolled-up 'Daily Prophet' and grinning.

"Tony, what are you doing?" asked Terry groggily.

"Terry, my friend, there's a mosquito flying around," Anthony replied with a smirk.

Terry frowned.

"So you decided to wake me up?" he asked, annoyed. "You couldn't have done it gently, could you?"

"Now, now, Terrence," said Anthony in a stern voice, "the mosquito was on your back. I actually did you a favour!"

"You two are utter bloody morons," came the muffled voice of Michael Corner, who was sleeping on Terry's left side.

Michael rubbed his eyes and sat up. His black hair was standing straight in each direction.

"Tony, haven't you ever heard of the phrase 'Do not use a hatchet to remove a fly from your friend's forehead'?"

Anthony nodded.

"Yes, I've heard of the phrase, but I used a newspaper to remove a mosquito from my friend's back. There's a difference, Michael Abraham Corner."

"Anthony Joseph Goldstein."

"Terrence Elijah Boot."

"My new name is 'Michael Says SHUT UP!"

On the second night of the trip, Terry was awakened by a sudden girly high-pitched scream coming from one Michael Corner. Terry got up, ready to kill both Michael and Anthony, but found himself stunning a bear that Michael had come upon while urinating. Terry wondered why the bear hadn't just eaten both of his friends so he could get some sleep.

On the third night of the trip, Terry was awakened by loud music.

"Love, love me do,

You know I love you..."

Apparently, Michael and Anthony had come upon the conclusion that bears were scared of Muggle rock music. The three boys spent the entire night listening to The Beatles, The Who and The Rolling Stones. Terry had already wondered if every Muggle band had a 'the' in its name.

On the fourth night of Terry's trip to Hell, he was awakened by a buzz of a mosquito.

Terry did a very sensible thing: he grabbed a book, slammed it over Anthony's head, while yelling, "TONY, YOUR MOSQUITO FRIEND IS BACK!"

Anthony had jumped in pain and fear, Michael had screamed again and Terry smiled.

On the fifth night, Terry was awakened by a strange hissing noise. He opened his eyes to find himself facing a large snake. He sat there, frozen in shock, for a few moments, before he cast a wandless Transfiguration spell, turning the snake into a small spider. He placed the spider into Michael's sleeping bag and went back to sleep.

On the sixth (and last) night of this strange camping trip, Terry wasn't awakened at all. Michael and Anthony packed all of their things, careful not to wake him up and they only did it when it was time to go. Terry was never happier to have such amazing best friends.
