Kara made sure to do a quick double check of everything as she placed the alcohol on her coffee table. "Okay girls night is an official go," she said as she smoothed her dress and fixed her glasses.
"Everything looks great sweetheart," Lena said as she kissed her fiancée on the cheek as she walked by.
"It does?" Kara asked nervously as she glanced around once more her nerves getting the better of her.
Lena laughed as she took her fiancées hands, "why are you so nervous? It's just Alex, Maggie and Sam."
"I know but Sam is your new CEO and she doesn't have any friends here so I want tonight to be perfect for her," Kara rambled.
Lena beamed at her fiancées. Sweetness, "You're perfect you know that and you're so sweet, tonight will be perfect I promise."
Kara beamed as she leaned over a kissed Lena quickly, "I love you."
"I love you too," Lena replied as she went to answer the door.
"Hey guys," Alex said as she and Maggie greeted Lena and Kara before heading towards the couch.
"Where's Sam?" Alex asked as she opened a beer and handed it to Maggie.
"She said she had to finish up some paperwork," Lena answered as she smiled at Kara who handed her a glass of wine before sitting next to her on the floor.
"So when are you guys planning on getting married?" Sam asked as she took a sip of her wine.
"December 27th, it's when my birth parents got married," Kara answered as she slowly trailed off.
Lena squeezed her shoulders as she kissed her temple.
Sam frowned as she cleared her throat, sensing the tension Alex spoke up, "how about you Sam? Is Ruby's dad still in the picture?"
Sam's frown deepened, "no I had her when I was sixteen; he dumped me when he found out."
"Oh," Alex mumbled as she downed the rest of her beer.
The room fell into an awkward silence as everyone just sipped their drinks; it was broken when Kara turned towards the window a curious look on her face.
Lena, Alex, and Maggie exchanged worried looks as Kara slowly stood up and headed for the door.
"I'm umm going to do a beer run," she called over her shoulder as she ran out the door.
"Be careful sweetie!" Lena called knowing with Kara's super hearing she would hear her.
"Sorry girls night had to end so quickly maybe we can do something next week," Lena said as held the door open for Sam.
"Its fine, I'm just happy to be out," Sam said with a smile as she gave everyone a small wave before turning and leaving.
"Kara has been gone a long time, I'm going to call J'onn and see what's going on," Alex said as she began dialing.
Lena waited with bated breath for Alex to finish her phone call; "well?" she asked when Alex hung up the phone.
"Some kid tried to kill himself," Kara was able to save him.
"Thank God," Maggie said as she set her empty beer bottle down.
"Is she okay?" Lena asked as she sat on the empty chair Sam had previously occupied.
"Physically yeah," Alex said as she ran her hands through her hair.
"Alex what is it?" Lena asked.
"J'onn said Kara took it hard, the kid tried to hurt himself to prove that Supergirl would save the day."
"Oh God," Lena said as they all turned towards the window, when they heard Kara.
Kara looked crestfallen as she entered her apartment and went straight to her room without a word.
Lena frowned as she saw the pain and tear stains on her fiancées face.
"I should go talk to her," Alex said as she stood up.
"Give her some space, she looks like she needs it," Maggie said as she took Alex's hand.
"Right," Alex agreed as she shot a tight smile towards Lena who was staring at the closed door.
"Well we should head out," Maggie said as she dragged Alex towards the door.
"Bye," Lena mumbled as she continued to stare at the closed door.
"Let us know how she is," Alex asked as she opened the front door.
Finally Lena turned around and shot Alex a smile," I will."
Alex just nodded as she closed the door behind her.
"Kara baby can I come on?" Lena askes gently as she knocked on the bedroom door.
Kara opened the door and then quickly ran back to the bathroom where she had been staring at herself in the mirror.
"Sweetheart what's wrong?" Lena asked gently as she leaned against the doorframe.
"All these people are risking their lives hoping I will show up and save them, what if I can't?" Kara cried out as she sank to the floor.
Lena rushed over and pulled her fiancé into her, lap as she let her cry.
"I can't always save everybody," Kara sobbed into Lena's neck.
"Baby what happened," Lena asked gently as she stroked Kara's back.
Kara wiped her eyes as she took a few deep breaths to calm herself down before speaking, "well a kid tried to jump off a building, " Kara began Lena just nodded remembering what Alex had said about Kara saving him.
"I was able to save him but," Kara said as she began to cry again.
Lena rubbed her back soothingly, "you don't have to tell me if you're not ready."
"I want to," Kara assured her which caused Lena to smile and nod as she waited for her to continue.
"Anyway I was so busy focused on him, I didn't hear the cocking of a gun till it was too late," Kara said as her eyes glazed over as if she was seeing it all over again.
"Oh God baby," Lena cried out as she kissed Kara's forehead.
"His girlfriend shot herself, they were testing me and I failed," Kara cried out.
"It's not your fault Kara," Lena assured her as she placed gentle kisses to Kara's hair.
"I should have been paying attention to my surroundings better," Kara said angrily more to herself than Lena.
"Kara look at me," Lena demanded. She waited for blue eyes to meet her own before speaking, "you can't control other people, and it was her decision to take her own life; that is not on you. You are hands down the kindest, sweetest, most selfless person I know. I love you more than anything in this world."
Kara smiled as she listened to Lena's words, "god I love you so much."
Lena leaned in and kissed Kara deeply, "I love you just as much."
"Sam must think I hate her," Kara mumbled as she stood up and fixed her towel.
"Not at all she understood," Lena replied as she followed Kara into the bathroom.
"Maybe we can do something tomorrow?" Kara asked she turned on the water for her shower.
"I will text her," Lena said as she went to retrieve her phone.
"Okay shots for everyone!" Alex and Maggie said as they set down the shots they were carrying.
Alex shot Kara a look letting her know she got her the special alien alcohol so she could join in on the fun.
"Let's party," Lena said as they all raised the shots before downing them.
"So let's play a pary game," Maggie slurred as she took a sip from her beer.
"Like what?" Alex asked as she stole a sip of Maggie's beer.
Maggie shot her a dirty look before answering, "Never have I ever."
"Sounds fun," Kara spoke up.
"I'm game," Lena said as she finished off her beer.
Sam nodded as she smiled, "sure why not."
"Okay I'll umm start," Maggie said as she took the beer the waitress set in front of her.
Alex just rolled her eyes at her obviously drunk girlfriend.
"Okay never have I ever been arrested," Maggie said.
"That's just mean," Lena snapped as she took a drink.
"Oh shit I forgot!" Maggie shouted as Alex cackled beside her.
"Its okay baby," Kara said as she rubbed Lena's back.
Sam looked confused as she looked back and forth, "dare I ask?"
"I was framed," Lena mumbled as she continued to glare daggers at Maggie who at least had the decency to look sorry.
"Maybe we should choose another game," Kara slurred as she continued to comfort her fiancé.
"Yes," Alex agreed as she seemed to be thinking.
Everyone seemed to be in deep thought as they thought up a game; the waitress came by and took all the empty beer bottles before setting down more beers.
"What about truth or dare?" Alex suggested.
"Hell yeah!" Kara said way to enthusiastically causing everyone to giggle.
"We should probably move this party to a more private venue," Lena suggested as she noticed how drunk Kara and Maggie seemed to be as they both kept staring at each other and laughing.
"How about my place?" Sam spoke up. "Ruby is with a friend."
"Great let's go," Lena saoid as she grabbed her fiancé and dragged her towards the door.
Everyone laughed as Kara and Alex did a clumsy dance routine from high school musical that Maggie had dared them to do.
"This is amazing!" Maggie cried out as she laughed at her girlfriend.
"I regret telling you we knew that dance," Alex grumbled as she flung herself down next to her girlfriend.
"Aww you looked adorable," Maggie cooed.
"Bite me," Alex snapped.
Lena and Sam laughed at the exchange before Sam spoke up, "okay guess it's my turn, "hmm what is something embarrassing about Lena that no one knows?"
"Good one," Alex said as she high fived Sam.
Lena pouted as she turned towards Kara, who seemed deep in thought, "she really loves Harry Potter like a lot," Kara said as she laughed.
"Lame," Alex grumbled hoping Kara would have something really embarrassing.
"Hey it's not my fault she's perfect," Kara pouted as she stuck her tongue out at her sister.
Lena beamed as she leaned over and kissed her fiancé, Kara was quick to deepen it and for a second the two women forgot they weren't alone.
"Okay now that my eyes burn, who's turn, is it?" Alex asked.
"Mine," Lena said as she wiped the lipstick from Kara's lips. "Okay Alex truth or dare?"
Alex's eyes narrowed at the smirk on Lena's face, "dare," she said cockily as she finished off her beer before setting it down.
"I dare you to reenact the dance sequence from Swan Lake," Lena said with a smirk.
Alex shot Kara a dirty look, "you told her?"
Maggie barked with laughter, "You did ballet?"
"My mom made me," Alex snapped. "Kara you are dead to me."
Kara pouted and shrugged, "she's my fiancée I tell her everything."
Lena beamed as she leaned over and kissed Kara's cheek.
"I hate you both," Alex snapped as she began the dance.
Everyone cheered as she finished, "screw all of you," Alex mumbled as she folded her arms and scowled causing everyone to laugh.
"What time is it?" Lena slurred as she noticed how tired Kara seemed.
"Almost two," Sam answered as she checked her phone.
"Oh damn it's late," Maggie said as she stood up and began collecting empty beer bottles; Alex also stood up and helped.
"Thank you for having us and I'm sorry about them," Lena said as she waved towards Alex and Maggie who were arguing over something Lena assumed was vegan related.
Sam just laughed, "Its fine they are great."
"Well I will see you at work in about a week, and not a day sooner," Lena said sternly as she and Sam shared a hug.
"Yes ma'am," Sam said with a laugh as she turned towards a hyper Kara who hugged her little too tight causing her to grunt.
"Come on sweetheart," Lena said as she dragged her fiancée out the door.
"How are you tired?" Kara complained as she bounced on the couch Lena was currently laying on.
"Ugh Kara baby please stop, I beg of you," Lena whined as she held her head.
"What's wrong?" Kara asked gently as she went to move Lena's hands so she could massage her scalp.
Lena moaned at the sensation, "that feels amazing."
Kara grinned as she straddled Lena and continued to run her fingers through her hair; she also began to lightly leave a trail of kisses up and down her neck causing Lena to moan.
"Kara I'm too tired for sex," Lena complained but her body was reacting differently and giving her arousal away and she knew Kara could smell it.

Kara just smiled as she cupped Lena's cheeks and went back to kissing her, she gently lay Lena down as she reached down and unbuttoned her pants as she slowly peeled them off before tossing them behind her, Lena moaned as Kara kissed her sex before slowly peeling off her underwear and tossing it behind her.
