The pouring rain fell down hard; nothing was left uncovered by the tears of the sky. Water was everywhere, flooding the streets and covering everything in an icy layer of still depression. Nothing moved, nothing spoke, the world was silent, and he was the only one there. He laughed and it was a hollow sound, filling the quiet with a booming echo.
"I always hated the rain," He stated in a whisper, walking in circles around that building where they once both stood. It was a time when they were happy, and it was a time when everything seemed to be alright. But it was just that, a façade, a show, a trick. The feelings he felt were a lie. The heart that wasn't beating in his narrow chest was a statement to that. The emotions were fake, a lie to himself to ease the pain.
He looked to the building's alley and smirked. He threw his vibrant red haired head back in a peal of laughter. They made out there so many times. Everyone knew, but it felt like their little secret. It was something that they could share together. They seemed to be together all the time; they were glued at the hip. If they could love, everyone knew they would. They knew that the love they shared was far beyond the trivial term of love. Their souls belonged together.
He looked up at the sky and saw the heart-shaped moon. "Why did we need hearts?" He shook his head as he asked himself that question. He always wondered what his goal if life was after he lost his heart. He felt no beating underneath his chest. He felt no blood flow. He felt no emotion, he felt no emotional pain. Or that was the theory. He felt those things, just not the familiar beating sound. It was all there, and it was stronger. He just hid it. He was always a black sheep.
"You loved me, right Rox? That's not why you left, was it?" He shook his head and said something else. "I am pretty damn pathetic." He felt pathetic because the one person who made him feel whole left. He had pleaded with him, begged him, to stay. But he left; he left with a turn of his blond head and a shut of his blue eyes, and turned his back on the Organization, and on Axel.
Axel laughed pathetically and repeated something he always thought. "You make me feel like I have a heart. I love you." One tear fell from an emerald eye, and he went back to the castle. "I always despised the rain." He shook his head once more, and the thin figure went through a portal of darkness.
