Dear Hannifans,

My father published a book with haiku recently, and I mused if Hannibal would like the genre. I guess he would. I hope you enjoy the ones I composed in his name. Oh right - disclaimer: I don't own any rights or whatever, I'm not making any money out of this, consider it a tribute to the Thomas Harris trilogy.

In my viewless room

memory is all I have

A young bird flies in

After replying to the reviews I received, I thought it might be a good idea to share my thoughts behind the haiku I composed with all of you here, right after the haiku, instead of only share with those why read and review.

I started with the idea for the third haiku first - about which later more - and came up with these four haiku in an evening's effort. Two scetches how things started out for our lovely couple, two on how the trilogy ends. This haiku, obviously, starts with a reference to Hannibal's state of affairs at the asylum, but it also is a nod to my fanfic 'A room with a view'. The second line is a direct quote from the Doctor. The third line, do I really need to explain that one? It's the contrast between the stale situation before Clarice enters his world, whom is presented as a young bird, alive and all.
