Disclaimer: I don't own Spyro.

"Can you cure him, Doctor?"

"You must do something, Doctor!"

"If you don't save him, Doctor, he might die!"

The voices he was hearing around him caused Spyro to open his eyes weakly - only to shut them quickly as he was blinded by the light that shone at him from above. When he reopened them, he found himself laying on a bed in the middle of an operating room, surrounded several of the elder dragons, who were looking worriedly down at him.

"No problem. I can make your svae little purple friend. You just leave it to me."

The next voice he heard was one which Spyro did not recognise. He lifted his head to see that standing over him was a dragon he'd never seen before. From the mask he was wearing which concealed his face, he could only assume he was a doctor for dragons.

A horrified look crossed the little dragon's face. His purple eyes widened with alarm. Was he about to be operated on?! While awake?!

Nope! He was in for something much worse!

Without warning, the dragon doctor suddenly shoved his arm down Spyro's throat. The young dragon instantly began to choke and gag. What he was going through was horrible. He tried to bite the dragon doctor's arm to get him to pull it out, but was unable to from how his body had tensed up.

The dragon doctor felt around inside Spyro's stomach for over a minute before finally feeling was he was searching for. He grabbed onto it before dragging his arm out of the little dragon's throat. He smiled triumphantly behind his mask as he held into the light a large, shiny, red gem.

"There you are," he said to the elder dragons. "Your little friend should be all better now."

The elder dragons began clapping and cheering. They were all grateful that the youngest in their herd had been saved from dying of having a jewel in his stomach.

"Now, Spyro," scolded one, "don't go swallowing any more gems!"

"Is there anything you'd like to say to the dragon doctor who saved you?" asked another.

Spyro glared up at the dragon doctor. He was far from appreciative towards him after he had shoved his arm down his throat. Taking a deep breath, the little dragon blew fire as hard as he could - right into the dragon doctor's face. The unlucky reptile was left with a burnt head as he collapsed to the floor, dropping the gem on the operating table.

"Yeah, there's something I'd like to say!" Spyro jumped up to all fours on the operating bed before glaring down where the dragon doctor lay on the floor. "Never shove your arm down my throat again, Doc! Do that again and you're toast!"

Ready to leave the hospital, Spyro picked up the gem in his mouth - only to accidently swallow it, leading to shouts and groans from the elder dragons.
