She had failed to keep him safe in the forest, but now teams didn't matter anymore, and although she didn't mind the presence of her teammates, they had been a hindrance when she was needed to protect him…now it was every Shinobi for himself and she could properly keep an eye out for him. She stood quietly with her mediocre sensei, and waited for her name to flick up onto the screen. That Uchiha boy was fighting that freaky leaf Genin, neither of them fought like Genin though, but both were arrogant and underestimated the other, honestly, Shinobi really irritated her sometimes, so up themselves when they had no idea of how to truly use their skills to the fullest. She resisted the urge to shift as its chakra swelled responding to her bad mood, she quickly suppressed it before the more competetant Shinobi in the room noticed.
She let her eyes wander over to where the Hokage and high ranking Jounin stood watching the proceedings, the old man looked worried. Whatever, she wasn't interested in Orochimaru's little experiment, now that he was no longer associated with the Akatsuki and their plans he was no longer of any interest to her.
"Lions Barrage!" the yell and subsequent crash brought her attention back to the floor, Sasuke had beaten Yoroi Akado, and from the stares he was receiving, his method had been unusual. She suppressed a sigh, wanting nothing more than to get this ridiculous little exercise over and done with so that she might speak to the Hokage and reveal who she was and why exactly she was here. Her gaze slid to the yellow headed Genin shouting at Sasuke. Only she could see the faint flicker of red behind his blue eyes or sense the occasional hint of malicious chakra just waiting for an opportunity to destroy everything. Naruto Uzumaki had no idea of the power he held inside, and the training he would receive in this village would never advance him to a stage where he would be in full control of that power. If he ever lost control… a hand on her shoulder jerked her from her thought,
"Xathurah, you are to fight Ryuu." Hiroshi Tamuro wasn't bad at teaching, but most of the lessons he had gone over with them she had learnt many, many years ago, making her bored out of her scull and wondering why she had even considered this plan to be a good idea in the first place. She turned to look at her teammate, he was been the most talented of the other two, but still, she couldn't let him win this one.
He smiled confidently at her, "good luck Xathurah."
"I don't believe in luck."
"Then you're doomed."
She merely turned to go down the stairs. As they squared up either side of the Procter Hiroshi smiled, this will be interesting. According to his observation of his students he knew that although Ryuu won almost every challenge he set, Xathurah almost visibly held back from going all out, he wondered why, but had concluded that she had a right to privacy, and beside he had his hands full with the other two, Kiyoshi had a strange condition that caused his chakra to spasm out of control at random times, for the most part he was a good student and a capable Shinobi, but these spikes drained his strength and meant that Hiroshi more often than not ended up looking after him, while at the same time trying to think of a new challenge to shut Ryuu up while his twin recovered. But maybe now she would go all out, he was looking forward to see what she could do.
