Never had she felt such loneliness, such complete pain and agony. Her blue eyes were watering and her hands were stained with her own blood. Her brown hair matted and limp. She felt the pain clawing at her heart; her spirit was slowly draining away.

Catch me as I fall

Say you're here and it's all over now

Her voice was horse and her mouth was dry. She had forgotten the last time when she had quenched her thirst. She tried to call out, but nothing came out of her mouth, no voice. No sound. Nothing,

Speaking to the up-most fear

No ones here and I fall into myself

"I'm alone." She thought. "I'm alone…forever." Her mind tried to push away the though, but it remained in her head. She wrapped her arms around herself and let her head fall low. This is madness. No, it's punishment.

This truth,

Drives me,

Into,

Madness

She clutched her right side. It was the source of her blood. She had been in pain for a long time, but it just was not stopping. Her blue eyes closed as she winced. Don't touch it. It will hurt even more.

I know I can stop the pain if I will it all away

Ahhhhh

If I will it all away

"Don't leave me alone. Please don't leave me." She though. She let out a horse cry. Finally, she could speak. Her eyes gazed up at the dark sky, the stars were glittering, as if watching her, but she could not hide from them.

Don't turn away

Don't try to hide

She closed her eyes tight. She wanted the sun to be up, the bright star guiding her way back home. She had often heard of stars leading you home, but she didn't think these stars were kind to her at all.

Don't close your eyes

Don't turn out the light

Never sleep, never Dieeeeee…

She felt her eyes flashing pictures in front of her. Images of war, fire, blood and death. Death of many innocent people. She then saw her home and smiled a bit. At least there was a home she could go to, if she could ever try to find it.

I'm fighting for what I see

But somehow I know that there's much more to come

The thought of never seeing her home again brought fear into her soul, but most of all, it brought more tears to her eyes, running down her cheeks, down her chin and dripping in front of her.

Immobilized by my fear

And soon to be,

Blinded by tears

She clutched her broken heart. The tears were flowing now, like two rivers. She had never felt that she would never see home again, but more importantly, the people she loved back at home. The pain was too much.

I can stop the pain if I will it all away

Ahhhhh

If I will it all away

She felt my life slipping away. That's it. I'm done. I can't take it much more. I'm giving up. Turning my back on life. I can't hide from the pain and truth anymore.

Don't turn away

Don't try to hide.

A hand touched her shoulder. Her eyes grew smaller as she thought it was another person that was going to kill her. She slowly turned around, her eyes closed and her breathing rapid, but she looked into a warm smile, shining in the moonlight. "Ha…Harvey?" she whispered.

Don't close your eyes

Don't turn out the light

She felt herself being lifted from her place of the cold ground. Harvey was smiling at her. A smile of sympathy. He stroked her hair and rubbed her back gently. "Don't speak Halie. I'm here, you don't need to worry." Cradled in her brother's arms, Halie laid her head against his chest. She was safe, and the pain was finally gone.

The End
