The sun was slowly rising over the horizon and the cruise liner, S.S. Tidal was sluggishly drifting towards the docks of Cyllage city, on board the vessel a young Pokémon trainer named Gavin eagerly anticipated getting off at the pier. Cyllage city was a part of the Kalos region, a place all new to Gavin. His emerald eyes were fixated on the coast as he ran a hand through his dirty blonde hair. He smiled. "Almost there…" He thought, walking over to his badge case. He slid his finger over the front, which has his name engraved in it, then over to the button on the side. Gavin pushed the button and the case opened into its three sections which contained gym badges from Sinnoh, Hoenn, and Unova. Each badge represented a different battle fought, a different hardship faced, and a different obstacle that had been overcame through hard work and determination. Gavin couldn't wait to challenge the gyms scattered around Kalos, and add those badges to his collection. He closed the case, sliding it back into his bag. It would only be another hour until the ship arrived in port.
Chase, his Pikachu then woke up and jumped off the bed. The Pikachu smiled, hugging his trainers leg. "Pika pi!" Chase cried out happily.
Gavin smiled, picking the Pikachu up. "Hey little buddy!" He grinned, "Didja sleep well?!" He asked Chase, who nodded after.
"Great!" Gavin smiled. "We're gonna disembark soon, so let's head to the boarding area!" He suggested.
The blonde grabbed his things and the duo was off to the exit. They were the first to reach the Tidal's boarding area. Gavin shuddered with excitement. In a matter of minutes he would be able to leave the ship, and step onto to Kalos for the first time, where new adventures, new friends, and new Pokémon awaited.
