I found myself in Lumbridge, not knowing what quest to take on. My advisor had little to offer, but then I met up with a stranger on the road who directed me to Lumbridge Castle. Apparently the Duke found a strange talisman and needed a brave soul to determine just what it was. On the second floor of the castle the Duke relayed a very curious tale and directed me to the Wizards Tower after handing me the strange stones. The stones were a talisman that had been found and weighed heavily on the Duke's mind.
I set off for the Wizards Tower, crossing through the forests of goblins and road men. After recently appearing before the Grim Reaper, I knew my resources and fighting skills were not a match for those crossing my path. The forest path stretched on for what I thought were miles. Finally, I made it across the moat bridge to the Wizards Tower. Traiban and other wizards had much to say, but very little real help. I was sure that the head wizard would be at the top of the tower, but I was wrong. It was in the basement or dungeon that I findally found Sedridor. After relaying the Duke's story, he told me to go to Varrock in the NorthEast and talk to a rune shopkeeper in the SouthEast part of that town. The reward would be amazing. I handed over the talisman and took no time to get on my way to Varrock which is just past Lumbridge.
Again, I followed the windy path which lead through Lumbridge to Varrock. Low on health, although undisturbed on my path, I was concerned with all the hideous characters I encountered. There were paths going East and West which lead to Varrock, so I chose that which lead to the southern gate.
After a good amount of searching, I finally found Aubury the rune shop keeper in the SouthEast corner of Varrock and gave him the talisman. He was amazed at the find and gladly handed me the research package. Without delay, he teleported me back to the Wizards Castle with some extra runes. I had never imagined that teleporting was possible, let alone that I would ever travel this way. It took mere seconds to arrive at the tower bridge!
I quickly made my way to the tower dungeon. Sedridor let me in on a secret. Wizards had been creating runes to cast spells, but then the tower burnt down and much knowledge and skill with it. Evidentally, the talisman I had brought him allowed wizards access to the Air Altar so that air runes could be fashioned. There are other talisman's scattered throughout the land. After his explanation, I handed him the research notes, with the Runes Mysteries quest successfully completed.
