A storm cloud floats overhead
It engulfs the sky above
Rain begins to fall
Almost like God's tears
Tears for his fallen children, all over the world he created
Thunder cracks, like a whip chiding a starving slave from years past
In my youth, I hid from this power,
This untamed force that I couldn't hope in a million years to control, as much as I yearned to\
I hid, until it was all over
As the rain ceased, the world seemed to be reborn
Birds chirped and twittered
I relished in their carefree noises
The grass shined with dew, as if God himself had taken enough care to place a droplet on every individual blade
I've learned to love the rain
It gives the filthy, unforgiving world new life
