CHAPTER 1: TROUBLE IN PARADICE

My name is Inu-kohai
I am just a little demon girl in my village(of demons) but unlike the others I am strong. In my village we are led by a man named Inu No Taisho, and he is not a bad leader but he does not want us to fight or make ourselves stronger because he believes that it is squarely his job to protect us. I know he does not want to see his people killed in war protecting the west but to be frank if we were attacked right now we would be crushed, which is why my father and I were training together in secret. My father was not even part of the west he was actually the lord of the eastern scree, but my mother was part of the west and I lived with her. I swear the woman hated me all the way up to her last breath, but anyway my father would sneak into the land of his rival every few weeks to instruct me on how to fight. Each time he came I learned something about battle. The last time I saw my father was right before his lands were stolen by those wretched fox demons.
Even though I am extremely thorough in covering my tracks I am beginning to believe that someone is catching on to me. I can NOT be caught and not just because of the severe punishment I would receive but because I have not competed what I need to do. I need to be strong so that this time I can protect my home; I will not be driven away with my tail between my legs ever again. When I am older I may even get to reclaim my father's territory, but I must get stronger and that can only happen if Inu No Taisho does not catch me. Besides being caught there is yet another problem with my plan; I can only get so strong by myself, I need someone to practice with but none of those spineless mutts in the village are brave enough not to mention some of them have to much of a mouth on them, they would blab to the next person they saw. Confused? Welcome to my world.
As I left to go to the place where I liked to train a voice came from behind me, "Where do you think you are going?" Oh come on, I thought to myself as I recognized the lord's son to be the owner of the voice.

I had known of her deception for a long time now, six weeks to be exact, but her level of strength and skill both surprised and intrigued me. Usually I just wached her but today I would join her and defy my father as well. I was planning on challenging her to a fight. I knew I was most likely to get my butt kicked but I had to see her fight up close.
When I tried to approach her she nearly had a heart attack; I do admit however that coming up behind her like that was a really bad idea but whatever. "Where do you think you are going?" I asked her. She stiffened up and turned toward me, "Um, to get some herbs." She said nervously. I knew she was lying to me, there were no herbs in that forest. "I know what you have been doing." I told her.
