In the outskirts of Tokyo, dwelled a house far from the hustle and
bustle of the streetlights and roaming cars. A small seclude
mansion sat on a large hill surrounded by woods. Behind the
mansion led an old, dirt path to a small lake hidden deep within the
woods. In the owner spare time, she spend many of her days
looking down it's shadowed depths and admiring the quiet beauty that
surrounded her. This place was her sanctuary...her escape from the
world... her solace.
Ami picked up the falling blanket around her shoulders, while
leaning closer to cold, smooth windowpane. Her face lay pressed
against the still glass, but the stars held her eyes captivated. She
huddled tighter within the blanket with two hands wrapped fiercely
around her treasure, an old ballerina charm. A roaring fire was
crackling in the background of her elaborate and elegant bedroom.
An array of baby blue and dark blue were adorned in her room.
Beside her, on a plate, laid her untouched sandwich.
"Ami!" The sound danced around her and slowly died away. She
almost heard it...caught it, but she was to deep in her despair to
notice. It had been two years since her mother died a cold, brutal
death. It killed her slowly, day by day, until Ami didn't recognize
whom she was. Where once she was kind and loving, she became
cold and hateful. She was dying mentally and physically, while
Ami could only watched as she slip slowly away from her. The
ballerina charm was a gift from her mother when she was six. At
that age, she only cared about being like her mom and a ballerina.
Her mom gave it to her, so she will always remember to follow her
dreams.
On the top of her mantle, several pictures stood scatter across. Each
showed a snap shot of her past from a little kid to the last few
months. Her best friend, Usagi, stood regal next her newly made
husband Seiya. Her arms wrapped tightly around his waist, while
Ami huddle up close placing one hand on her shoulder. The
picture was taken shortly before her mother, Mizuno, became sick.
She stood behind the camera, telling them to get closer together.
Another picture was with Ami and her four friends in a group shot,
each holding their diploma and shouting cheese. On the end of the
mantle with a space for itself, stood a snap shot of chibi-Ami in a
ballerina outfit twirling around.
Ami no longer spent time with her friends, but put all her time and
energy in the hospital. While her friends got marry and started a
family, she went higher up in chain of command. Slowly, she
became the top doctor at the hospital. Although, she was losing a
piece of herself a little at a time. Her friends barely recognized her
as she continued to put more distance between them. She had no
one to turn to.
____
"Get up!" A strong male hand went across a young boy face. The
blow quickly send the small figure back against the wall, "I said
'Get up!' You will not disrespect me." The man hand went around
the child neck forcing him up in the air and quickly dropped him to
the dirt wooden floor.
The child face was covered in bruise and dirt. His dark purple hair
hanged limp against his head. Long bangs shield people from
noticing the ugly purple and blue bruise a crossed his face. His
dark form was hidden under layers of clothes as it engulfed him.
"Sorry!" He lowered his head, staring at his feet cover in black dirt
from walking barefoot.
"Sorry is not enough, Yue! You need to be taught a lesson, but I
will give it to you. Clean this place up or I will double the
punishment!"
Yue stood shaken remembering the last time he was so upset.
