So, I apparently really have a thing for writing about the episode "To Grandmother's House We Go". (At least I'm pretty certain that's the episode that this is from. If not, please let me know!) Let's see Bobby's reaction to being teased by his co-workers. Can his macho pride hold him through? :P :D
Commenting prompt for today: If Myles was invited to attend an ugly sweater party at Sue and Lucy's, what do you think that he would do? If you write fanfiction, how about doing a Christmas story based on this prompt. I'm going to do one next month and am collecting ideas. If you have anything that you would like incorporated, please let me know in the comments. Also, if you write a story based on this prompt please comment with the name of your story so that I can read it. Got that? Great. Let's read!
Bobby scowled as he stalked away from Lucy, her laughter still mocking his pride. Her comment about the "pretty purple" shade of the bruise around his eye, caused by being hit by a bank door throw open by a robber. It hurt. Yes, his eye still was sore - it hurt whenever he blinked or changed his facial expression. Scowling was not exactly helping, but Bobby hoped that at some point he could intimidate his jolly teammates into giving him the space to heal. Not that them shutting up would really change anything about his face recovering from the blow - but maybe it would give his pride a little time to recuperate.
"Bobby?" A soft voice along with the click of high heels behind him in the hallway caused him to pause and turn.
Oh, great. What does Tara want? Another laugh before I go out? His ruffled feelings caused him to jump to conclusions that he normally would never consider of his dear friend.
"You okay?"
The genuine concern melted his heart.
Aw, sheila, I made feel guilty, did I?
He smiled at her, forgiving her earlier teasing in a moment. "Oh, yeah, just my bruised pride."
She reached up and gently touched his bruise, her cool fingers surprisingly not drawing pain as they ghosted over the mark. She dropped her hand and quickly as she raised it.
"Be careful."
Suddenly the bruised pride seemed to be a whole lot better. That sheila must have a healing touch.
…
"It goes well with the bruise."
Tara's playful comment about the cast on his hand caused him to scowl at her again - but this time, nearly a week later, it was only on the surface. Let her have her fun. He was able to take a lot more than a giggle from a tech analyst.
But next time the team had to deal with a bank robber, he would let Myles or Jack do the field work.
Those two had egos that needed to be brought down a peg!
