Packing
Raidne the Silent Siren
Faith wasn't happy at all. Why couldn't she just do something right for once?
Why couldn't they just leave her alone?
B was looking for her again.
She had already heard the murmurings from the demons of another slayer in the area.
This wasn't good.
Buffy had been looking for her since that whole end of the world thing. Faith still wasn't sure why.
She had some ideas though.
She didn't want to have another confrontation with blondie after all that crap. She was finally free from prison, well, she freed herself. She and some of the others were actually on good terms for once. She even had an invitation to stay at Angel's until she got on her feet again.
Things were finally looking up.
Why was Buffy looking for her then?
They had had their moment of slayer comraderie in the past. They nearly had one recently. That still didn't explain why B wanted to find her.
Faith didn't like to run from anything. She had been doing it for too long in her life as it was.
So why did she run away from a little blonde girl?
Faith didn't dare attempt to answer that question.
Buffy was everything she wasn't. She was the perfect blonde angel that miraculously appeared in everyone's life and brought nothing but joy and love.
Faith was the dark haired girl from the wrong side of the tracks. She brought nothing but bitterness and destruction to everyone who crossed her path.
She had tried to be Buffy for a short while. It had been nice. She had been loved unconditionally and had loyal friends. Granted none of this had belonged to her by right but that didn't stop her from sucking in all the benefits.
When the end of the world was coming for, supposedly, the final time, she had been needed. That was a feeling she still had trouble coping with. She wanted to be needed by someone. She just didn't think she could handle the responsibility that it would bring.
Angel thought that she was ready.
His opinion mattered to her as much as her own did.
She had thought he was hot in Sunnydale but she hadn't done much but appreciate the physical side to him then.
Now she knew him. He worried enough about her to visit her weekly at the prison she had gotten herself into. He cared.
Something else she had yet to cope with.
It was made even harder by the fact that she cared too.
She also cared enough about her hide to get the hell out of dodge if Buffy was after it. Damn it. She hated packing.
The End
