Drabble/One-Shot. I hope you like Laynington, though it is a bit sad.

Where'd you go? I miss you so,
seems like it's been forever since you've been gone.

Please come back home.

Layne Abeley had never been one to show much affection towards someone that was as popular as Derrick Harrington, but she had. But then again, how could anyone be able to resist his puppy-dog brown eyes and his wonderful million-dollar smile? Oh, how much she loved the stupid boy, even though she knew that he would eventually be the end of her. She had always wondered how it ended up her married to Derrick Harrington when he could have had so many other beautiful women, but he choose her instead.

It hurt Layne to know that she was not his only mistress, however, even though they were now married, almost a year now. Derrick thought that Layne would never find out. How wrong he was. But Layne could never bring it in her heart to confront him, so she let him go right along and keep hurting her.

He was oblivious to her pain, as most men -- boys, she corrected herself, for they could not be called men since they only just finished high school -- her age were. Sometimes Derrick would disapear for days at a time and give her some bullshit excuse that he'd been away on business.

She was never surprised when she returned from work and found im either passed out and drunk on her bed or simply gone. but when he was there with her, sober, he would act so lovingly towards her, kissing her gently and whispering sweet words into her ear. These occasions were so rare, however, sometimes she would wonder if she just imagined them. She didn't know what she'd do without him in her life.

He didn't know that everytime he left the house, it would hurt her a little. She would only let a lone tear escape. Never more because she thought herself lucky that he was still hers, somewhat.

She was surprised that Derrick was waiting for her when she arrived home from work that day, roses in his arms.

Her eyebrows arched up as if amused and slightly confused.

"What's this for?" Layne asked.

Derrick smiled.

"To show that I love you," he replied simply.

Layne smiled, she knew that he'd probably said those exact words to so many women, but she didn't care at the moment, because right now, Derrick Harrington was hers, and in these precious few moments with her husband, no one would be able to take him away from her.
