John Doggett pushed off the wall with a smile on his face as he stretched his arm out. 'Bob!'

'John!' was the response from the balding, slightly portly fellow that shook his hand when he reached him seconds later. 'How have you been?'

'Can't complain,' replied Doggett as he stood next to the man he'd worked with on a taskforce some years ago. 'Yourself?'

'Life has never been better mate,' said Bob, knocking the elbow of his old friend. 'Tell you what, just last night I took home this sweetest piece of pie and added whipped cream and a cherry – if you get my drift!'

'You haven't changed a bit have you?' said Doggett shaking his head. 'So where we going?'

'What about your partner?' interrupted Bob the glass door revolved.

'They'll be here in a moment,' said Doggett as he turned to business. 'From the file you sent over I can see that...' He got no further as Bob looked beyond him and let out a wolf whistle. 'Now that is one piece of honey I'd take home any day.'

Doggett turned and looked around in confusion. All he could see was Monica with her head buried in a file walking toward them and a bunch of suits crossing the foyer floor. Who was he talking about?

'All she needs is a pair of them black rimmed glasses and she's the stuff of fantasies,' the man beside him carried on. Wait, he was talking about Monica? He had no time to correct Bob – or ward him off for that matter – as Monica had reached them.

He could almost see Bob salivating as Monica raised her head from the file and gave him a warm smile. 'John. I managed to get the forensics report.'

'This is your partner?' squeaked the man next to him before he hastily deepened his voice. 'You must be Doggett's partner.'

'Monica – Talbot Walton,' said Doggett doing the obligatory introductions. 'Bob – Monica Reyes.'

'The pleasure is all mine,' charmed Bob as he shook his partner's hand. Doggett couldn't help but stand a little closer to Monica. It must be the protectiveness within him. Yeah, that was it.

Leaving the elevator, they walked down the hall to the interview room as they discussed the strange facts of the case. Arriving at the interview door, Monica stepped into the room and Doggett prepared to follow before Bob pulled at his arm and stopped him from entering. 'She free?'

He didn't even need to think about his response. 'Hands off.'

'Reading you loud and clear,' laughed Bob as he pushed by him into the room.

'She's all yours.'
