Loner
Breakdown punched in the access code into Airachnid's room, careful to see no one was looking. Lord Megatron would not approve of their relationship, and would see it as a hindrance to their cause. They tried their utmost to hide what they shared.
Airachnid was no where to be seen, so he thought he'd look for her in her room. He had a need to talk to her, but nothing came to mind what he wanted to say to her. Not that they've been talking, exactly... There were more arguments than pleasant conversations. All relationships had their rough patches, and fighting the Autobots was exhausting while looting through human technology, but Breakdown wished everything between him and Airachnid would be sorted out. If it didn't... the direction of their relationship would change.
She was asleep in her bunk. For a 'Con as mysterious as her, she looked ordinary as her optics were closed in recharge. So peaceful... so serene. The opposite of what she was.
And that was what attracted him to her in the first place.
How did it all start? They were just subtle glances, making sure she didn't notice he was looking at her. Then, hidden kisses in storage holds, praying to Primus no one walked in on him. Then, the first night they made love... he realized he truly cared about her.
He remembered walking up to her during a mission on Earth, taking her by the shoulders, making sure she heard every word he said.
"I love you...! Don't tell me that night was nothing, and what's been going on for the past weeks. We have something, but we don't talk about it. What, you just want to be colleagues with benefits? If that's how you see us, I can understand."
He began to walk away.
"Just keep our relationship professional from now on."
He was just a frag buddy after cycles of loneliness. The relationship was one sided from the start, she never cared about him at all. What was he thinking? He should have listened to Knock Out and everyone's warning. Why did he kept on driving into something as steep as her?
A gentle hand stopped him in his tracks. Turning, her optics looked heavy as she looked to the ground. As her face inched closer towards his, he could feel his optics closing. They had kissed, but it never burned this much before.
Out of all the femmes in the universe, Breakdown thanked Primus for sending him this one.
She was always a loner. She never wanted to join back into the 'boys' club', though he literally had her at his back, and had to present Lord Megatron with something.
Loners were always strongest by themselves. Nothing held them down. If he was weighing her down, perhaps there was no room for him anymore.
Perhaps that was the direction of their relationship.
"Breakdown..."
He stopped himself as he walked towards the door, optics widening. Did he wake her? Turning, he learned she was still asleep. He breathed. At least he wasn't too noisy.
He placed a hand on her helm. He didn't know why they cared for each other or why Primus put them together. Until his spark died, he was always going to be by her side.
He kissed her indigo finish skin.
"Sleep well, darling..."
