"Where should we go next?" A man wearing a ski mask grumbled as he threw a large duffel bag into the back seat of a truck.

"I don't know man, just drive." Another man said as he got in the passenger seat.

"Sorry fellas, but I can't let you take that." A teen wearing a hockey mask and a hood said as he punched one of the men out of the car.

"Kid, you don't know what you're messing with." The man in the car as he pulled out a gun and fired a bullet at the teen.

The teen just shrugged and raised his hand. It moved so fast that it actually blurred, and he held the bullet between his fingers. "Gotta be faster than that."

He streaked forward and sent the other man sprawling out of the car. In a blur, the two robbers were tied up and on top of the car. The teen raised his hand up to his mask. "I got them, Kelly."

"Get back to the Palmwoods before anyone notices." A voice said in his mask. "Now!"

"Yeesh." The teen said and disappeared in a flash.

A FEW HOURS EARLIER

A few days after Jo had left, the boys were in the studio recording some vocals.

"They're really killing it right now." Kelly said.

"Eh, they're okay." Gustavo shot back, but Kelly noticed the small smile on his face.

"Hey, Gustavo," Kelly said as her phone vibrated. "I have to go check the pantry to make sure our party supplies are still there for when the boys go on tour."

"Yeah, yeah," Gustavo said, his eyes glued to the singing boys.

Kelly walked down to the pantry and looked around before pulling a box of Pop-Tarts. It disassembled and revealed a vial labeled "Dark Matter".

She breathed a sigh of relief and walked away, not noticing the electricity running through a faulty wire.

"That was awesome!" Carlos said as the boys walked out of the recording room.

"Yeah…" Logan said, looking at Kendall.

"I'm fine, really." Kendall said. "How about you guys go on ahead and I get a quick drink from the vending machine?"

"Nah, we'll stay with"- Carlos began but saw Logan and James waving their hands and mouthing no- "actually, we'll see you later."

Kendall rolled his eyes as they walked away. He walked over to the vending machine but paused when he saw Kelly speak over the phone angrily with someone.

"I'm telling you, there's no way it'll work!" She was yelling. "I've stashed it in the pantry for now but we need to find someone soon."

Find what? Kendall thought and snuck into the pantry. After looking around for a moment, he quickly saw a vial with what looked like a Pop-Tart box around it.

His fingers encircled the vial, and Kendall slipped. The vial crashed against him and shattered, and all of its contents spilled against him.

As if it were fate, at that exact moment, the faulty wire sparked, and electricity arced from it onto Kendall.

The electricity swam through the dark matter, and it caused a loud boom. Kelly came running into the room a few moments later.

"Kendall! Oh my gosh, are you okay?" She asked with a worried voice.

Kendall's eyes remained closed for a second, but when they opened, a flash of lightning appeared in them. "Why do I have a headache?"

Kelly looked at him, shocked. "Did you maybe touch the vial that was there?"

"Uh…" Kendall said awkwardly. "Maybe."

Kelly then looked at the wire and him. "And then did that wire maybe shock you?"

"Uh...maybe."

Kelly looked at Kendall for a few moments in thought. "Ok. Run out of the room."

"Run?" Kendall asked. "Uh, why?"

"Just humor me, Kendall." She replied as she crossed her arms.

Kendall went to run, and he suddenly zoomed out of the room and slammed into the wall with a painful moan.

"It's just what I thought." Kelly mumbled.

"What? What's happening to me?" Kendall said, his voice getting louder.

Kelly shook her head and walked back in forth in front of Kendall before calling someone. "There's a bit of a problem, someone accidentally destroyed the vial." She paused for a bit. "Side effects? Speed. Super speed."

Kendall looked at her, and then felt his hand start to vibrate. He put it in front of his face and saw that it was actually moving, albeit very fast.

"Okay. Sounds good. Thank you. Bye. Love you too." Kelly ended the call and looked at me. "That was my mother. A little secret, my mother works in a different state for the lab that was trying to examine the effect that the vial you had a problem with has on people."

"It makes them fast?" Kendall asked, hitting his hand against a wall until it stopped moving.

"Well, we don't know. But it's safe to say that you have speed. I'd even call it super speed." Kelly said, patting his shoulder.

"What now? Can you make it go away?"

Kelly shook her head. Gustavo walked down the hall, humming. "Dog!" He yelled in his usual voice. "What are you doing here?"

"Kendall was just heading home." Kelly said nervously. "Right, Kendall?"

"Yes," Kendall said. "I was."

Kelly slipped him a small earpiece as he walked by.

Just as Kendall walked outside, his phone started ringing. "Hello. James? What? A rocker girl moved in? She's hot?! You call dibs? What? Hello? And he's gone."

As much as he wanted to meet this hot rocker girl, Kendall put finding out exactly how fast he could run first.

"Here goes…" He muttered and took a step forward. There was a sudden rush of wind and Kendall blasted forward.

Looking around, Kendall noticed that everything was going by really fast, like a movie. However, the odd thing was that Kendall didn't feel like he was running hard at all.

Pushing a little harder, Kendall noticed that there was a loud booming noise, which caused him to stop running.

"Ugh, Kelly, did you hear that?" He spoke over the comm.

"Yeah." She said, but it was hard for Kendall to hear over the ringing in his ears. "I think you broke the sound barrier."

"The what now?"

Kendall heard a sigh. "You're just really fast. Now Gustavo is having me run some errands so I can't talk to you. Just go home or something."

Getting back to the Palmwoods was easy for Kendall. He literally zipped in between cars and was back in two minutes, tops.

"Kendall!" James and Carlos yelled. They both glared at each other and ran towards Kendall.

After a solid second of pushing each other, they both began yelling over each other. "Guys, guys." Kendall said. "I can't understand."

"We both like the new girl." James said, and Carlos nodded.

"But she won't date either of us." Carlos finished heatedly.

"Well that's too bad." Kendall replied. "Maybe she just got out of a messy relationship and"-

"FRIENDZONE!" They both yelled and put their hands over their ears and turned around.

"See, that's what I told them." A voice said from Kendall's right.

Kendall turned to see who it was and his jaw almost dropped. The girl to his right was perfect.

She had red streaks in her hair, and was up to Kendall's shoulder. The girl was dressed in a leather jacket and jeans, and the jacket had little buttons in it.

"No offense, but your friends are idiots." The girl smiled and extended her hand. "Lucy. I just moved in."

"Kendall." Kendall replied and shook her hand. "How are you liking it here so far?"

Lucy began to answer, but Kelly yelled in Kendall's comm. "Kendall, I found a use for your speed. Come to the studio, now."

"Uh sorry, Lucy, I have to go." Kendall replied and started to walk away.

Lucy grabbed his arm. "Hey. A guy's never walked away from me when I'm talking to him."

"I-I'm sorry I just have to go…"

Lucy gave him a smile that made his knees go weak. "Apartment 2I. Come by later."

Kendall smiled back a bit weakly. "Okay."

As Kendall walked away, Lucy gave him a wink. Shaking his head to get rid of any stray thoughts of Lucy, Kendall zoomed back to Rocque Records.

Kelly was waiting for him with a goalie mask and a hoodie. "There's a duo of robbers that have been robbing stores across town. I was thinking that you put these on and take them down."

"Kelly, I'm a singer, not a...a…"

"Superhero?" Kelly offered.

"Yes. A superhero." Kendall said. "There is no way you can get me to"-

Kelly raised an eyebrow. "No way?" She said while raising a hockey stick.

"Kelly, I don't need a hockey stick, I have tons. Wait! Is that…"

Kelly smirked. "Your hockey stick. Logan says it's your lucky stick."

Kendall glared and flashed forward and put the clothes on. "Fine."

The ground cracked under Kendall's feet as he launched forward and streaked throughout the city.

PRESENT

Kendall dropped the clothes next to Kelly. "I should go home."

"Check the news!" She yelled as he left the room.

"Kendall Donald Knight!" Mrs. Knight yelled as Kendall walked into the apartment. "Where have you been?"

"The studio." Kendall lied effortlessly.

She crossed her arms. "Dinner is on the table. Don't you dare worry me like that again!"

"Okay mom, I'm sorry." Kendall said and began to wolf down his sandwich. "Mom can I have another?"

"Um, sure Kendall."

"Another?" Kendall asked, already licking his fingertips when she turned away.

Ten sandwiches later, Mrs. Knight threw up her hands. "Kendall, there's no bread left. Why do you have such a large appetite all of a sudden?"

"Well…" Logan said as he came out of nowhere. "A bigger appetite generally means a faster metabolism. But how would have Kendall's metabolism gotten so fast?"

A chair next to Kendall spun and James was sitting in it. "Maybe if he got really fast. You know, like super fast. But that isn't possible."

Carlos hopped up next to him. "Unless, Kendall was that masked man that stopped the robbers."

They finished their theory and they all leaned forward and looked at Kendall with inquisitive looks.

"That's a nice theory you have." Kendall chuckled as he wiped his face with a napkin. "There's just a few issues. First of all, the guy was wearing a red and black hockey hoodie. I don't even own a hockey hoodie. Second, he was wearing a goalie mask, but I wouldn't have one because I don't play goalie. Third, I was literally with Kelly and Gustavo all day long, so if you don't believe me, call them. And, you guys know I hate running."

Logan sighed. "You're right, you don't have a hoodie."

"Or a goalie mask." Carlos added as he tapped his helmet.

"And I guess Gustavo and Kelly wouldn't lie to us." James elaborated.

"Not to mention, Kendall loathes running." Katie said, and the boys turned to look at her incredulously. "What? I just wanted to be a part of your whole 'Think Kendall is the Flash but get shut down by solid reasoning and witness reports' thing."

"Excuse me?" Kendall leaned forward. "The Flash?"

"That's what the news is calling him." Katie shrugged. "You guys are dorks."

She got up and walked away. The boys turned back to look at Kendall. "So, friend of mine, ready to play some video games?" James said as he pulled out two discs.

"I'd love to, but the new girl invited me to her apartment." Kendall said.

James and Carlos' mouths both hung open and James dropped the games. Logan gestured for Kendall to go and mouthed 'I got this'.

Kendall shot him a thumbs up and mouthed 'thank you'. He tiptoed to the door and gently opened and closed it but the second he closed it he heard yells from Carlos, Logan, and James.

Letting out a deep breath, Kendall got in the elevator and clicked floor 2. Once he reached the floor, he walked over to 2I.

He knocked on the door a few times and Lucy opened the door. "Kendall. Come in." She said, giving him a small smile.

"Hey, Lucy. Uh, what's that?" He asked. She turned around for a moment, and he zoomed away and came back with a plant. "I got you this plant. It's a housewarming gift."

Lucy took the plant. "Thank you. Uh, your friends kinda helped me with the whole unpacking process."

"Really?" Kendall asked, surprised. "They barely put their own stuff away at home."

"Well...I may have pretended to go out with them both so they'd get me supplies and help me unpack…" she said as she laughed nervously.

"You're saying you tricked two of my friends into practically being your workers for a day?" Kendall asked as he stepped inside.

"Um, yes." Lucy said.

Kendall smirked. "We'll get along just fine."

"Come, sit. I was just about to watch a movie."

Kendall looked at the couch tentatively. "That is a small couch. You know I'm like 5'11 right? I'm going to take up so much of that."

"We'll work it out." Lucy winked.

Kendall sat down and Lucy sat down extremely close to him. "So, Lucy, what brings you here? To the Palmwoods, I mean."

"Well, I wanna be a rock goddess." She said lifting up a CD. "Check out some of my songs."

"Teenage anarchy. Eat my dog? Cut it off and"- Kendall stopped reading and gave her a sideways glance.

"The last one usually shocks people." Lucy shrugged.

"Yeah, I can see why." Kendall smiled. "And you live alone?"

She reached forward and grabbed a cup of steaming cocoa and took a small sip. "Yeah, my parents think I'm here on a scholarship for a conservatory. They both study classical music and they hate rock. With a passion."

"I'm sure you could convince them." Kendall shrugged. "I mean, look at Logan. His dream was to be a doctor and we somehow roped him into singing in a boyband."

"Eh…" Lucy said. "My brother dyed his hair and became a drummer and they sent him to military school."

"Oh." Kendall said with his eyebrows raised. "Wow."

"Yeah, tell me about it." Lucy replied as she rolled her eyes. "Whenever they come to see me they'll want to meet you."

"Me?" Kendall asked confusedly. "Why me?"

"They'd want to meet their daughter's boyfriend, silly." She smiled and looked up at him.

"Oh, I see. I wonder who that is. Could you tell me?" Kendall asked as he slowly moved closer.

"I don't know, Kendall." Lucy whispered almost inaudibly, as they were nearly an inch apart. "Maybe this will answer your question."

She moved closer and closed the distance between them. Kendall softly kissed her back, and the movie kept playing on and on, forgotten.

They kept kissing for a few moments until they heard a loud thud outside the door. Lucy reluctantly stopped kissing Kendall.

"I'll check." She said and opened the door.

Carlos, James, and Logan all fell inside holding the parabolic microphone. Lucy turned and crossed her arms at Kendall.

"Hey, I didn't know they were there." Kendall protested. "Logan, you said you'd handle it."

"I did but Carlos and James overwhelmed me." Logan said with a sorry expression.

"What?" James yelled. "I just said 'Let's go see what Kendall's up to' and you said yes."

Logan looked at Kendall with a guilty face. James angrily pointed at him. "I called dibs man, no fair."

"Dibs?" Lucy asked with a pointed look at Kendall.

"It's like staking claim," Logan explained. "When you call dibs on something, it means no one else can have it and it's practically all yours. So when James called dibs on you, he made it so that no other guy could look at or talk to you."

"Oh really?" Lucy asked with a smirk. She turned to Kendall and pulled him closer and started kissing him again.

James and Carlos both let out horrified screams and ran. Logan gave Kendall a thumbs up and ran after them.

AN: Well that's it for the first chapter of my first ever BTR story. Uh, I've never written a BTR story before but I really wanted to write one so I kinda put together the two TV shows I'd been watching most of lately. This isn't a crossover though, Kendall just had powers. Obviously, Kendall is my favorite character so I decided to give him powers first. The pairing so far is Kendall/Lucy but who knows what'll happen later down the line? Anyways, if you enjoyed it let me know so I can get working on the best chapter. Thanks.
