Disclaimer - Sailormoon is owned by a lot of people, most of whom
are not me, so don't get all worked up about my using the characters
in ways they weren't meant. I'm just a common or garden fanfic
writer without a hope in this dark and cruel world. Maybe.

"I am not a cruel person." Saturn said to nobody in
particular, as she stood atop the mound of rubble that might have,
once, been a dwelling within the utopia known as Crystal Tokyo. "I
prefer to remain within the quiet, dark corners of this monarchy,
protecting... Defending... I would rather love than hate. I would
rather cure than kill."

She watched as beings of immeasurably demonic evil butchered
and killed innocent civilians in the remains of Crystal Tokyo. "It
hurts me to see death..." She continued. "It all seems so
unnecessary. Isn't it better to be happy? To love one another,
without this relentless urge to kill?"

She looked down at her feet, where the body of her Queen lay,
having sacrificed her life so that some may escape the holocaust
that was in progress. She then stared at the sky. The disappearing
points of light in the dark night sky... Ships of crystal,
carrying her Queen's daughter away to another world, and, perhaps,
another utopia. Saturn's eyes filled with tears as she remembered
the expression on the face of the pink-haired girl. "It is so much
easier, to be kind. It takes a whole lot less energy." Her one-
time friend. The bastion of her own redemption.

"So forgive me. But I cannot bear to see what I am about to
do." She lowered herself to the ground, where her Silence Glaive
had been resting, like some barrier of defence, across the body of
her Queen. She gripped the bladed end of her weapon and steeled
herself, and with a cry she plunged the point of the blade into her
eyes, one after the other. Surprisingly, she felt little pain as
the world darkened upon her forever. She then held the Silence
Glaive into the air, feeling blood streaming down her cheeks like
warm, sticky tears.

"I... am not afraid... of what I cannot see." She shouted.
"DEATH REBORN REVOLUTION!"
