A/N: This was only meant to be a short story. Just a little idea that I thought was so cute I just had to write it. So one short and sweet story coming up! Hope you enjoy.
…
Audebert stood watching the snow flakes blanket an already white landscape through the window. The window had condensation creeping across the individual glass panes while the snow piled up outside. The heavy snow fall made getting to and from outside virtually impossible. He did not mind being snowed in. In fact he welcomed the idea.
The light was fading fast and created a stark comparison between the frightfully cold weather outside and the warmth and comfort inside. The room in which he stood was kept warm by a open lit fire, the flames casting light and shadows onto the wall creating a surreal passionate display of light and dark, entwining continuously in a forbidden dance.
Suddenly, a pair of strong arms encircled his waist pulling him close. Audebert smiled as he felt his lover's chest pressed against his back and butterfly kisses being trailed down his neck. Audebert sighed with contentment, turning his head so he could look at his lover.
"Horstmayer". Audebert breathed. "Why do you torment me so?"
"Because your beautiful; and I'm envious of what ever it is that has taken your attention away from me". Horstmayer smiled before kissing the side of Audebert's mouth. Audebert turned in Horstmayer's arms and deepened the kiss, making it passionate and trying to make up for lost time. Four years had passed since they were last together; four years of worry for the other, the dread of finding out the other had perished in the slaughter and the feeling of uncertainty for the future; their desire for one another being realised during the Christmas truce of 1914.
Breaking the kiss, Horstmayer's fingers started fiddling with the collar of Audebert's shirt. "Nothing would make me happier than to see you out of those clothes again". Horstmayer whispered into Audebert's ear. "I've waited far too long for this".
"Heaven knows I have too". Audebert breathed, his hot breath dancing on Horstmayer's skin.
"If I ever needed evidence that fate exists, you're it".
