Carlisle'sPOV
I stood on the balcony, staying in the shadows, over looking the Volturi city.
I had my arms crossed over my chest, dreading what was sure to come at any moment. I don't know why I don't just leave. I don't like this life style. It's not right to murder innocent hims, for our hunger. That might be how we survive, but that still doesn't make it right. We use to be humans ourselves. They have families that they would be leaving behind if we took there life.
I sighed when I heard foot steps nearing me. "Carlisle, dear, will you please join us tonight? You have not dinned with us the past 3 weeks. Surly, the animals aren't diminishing that thirst. Only human blood can do that." Aro said, placing him pale hand on my shoulder.
I turned around to face him, "No, I will not join you, tonight, not ever. I have not dinned with you because I do not think it is right to take human lives. And, no, animals do not, completely, take the burn away, but I will deal. I'm not the type of person to take a life, if I can survive off animals."
Aro's eyes were slighly wide and his head cocked to the side, a few seconds later a smile broke across his face, "I never found you the type to joke, Carlisle."
He thought I was joking? I take this completely serious and he thinks I'm joking!? "I'm not joking, Aro."
His smile fell, "Were vampires, Carlisle. Thats what we do. We take human lives. It can never change. Your a vampire, you must learn that." He said, now, taking me serious.
"I know I'm a vampire. I'm not that clueless, but I don't want to be a normal vampire. I want to peruse my human dream as a doctor." I thought back to that. I would have loved to be a doctor, but I had to take over my fathers business. I have all the time on my hands. I could do it. I could survive on animals. I know I could.
Aro laughed, "A doctor. Carlisle? Are you serious? You'd have to deal with blood, human blood. No one could do that. Sorry to hurt your dream, but its not going to happen."
I let out a frustrated growl, "I can do whatever I put my mind to." I said and walked past Aro, going to my room.
Aro didn't follow me, luckily. I didn't have much so I just sat in my room till dark, till I could start my new life.
This is for a forum. I really don't think this is how the thing was suppose to go, but I thought it was good, it showed some of how Carlisle's life was.
