Ezio Auditore, my love.

His robes fell delicately over his aged body. He was weathered but incredibly handsome. I could not keep my eyes off of him. Ezio was the only other Italian I met in Constantinople. Then he said my name, the way his lips wrapped around it sent shivers down my spine. "Sofia." "Buonasera, cara Ezio." I tried to control my voice as it wavered. He didn't notice. "It brings me such joy to see you." I kissed his cheek. He smelled of incense, jasmine. I inhaled deeply. I moved to the desk. Careful not to betray my feelings. "I have located the last book, Signore Ezio." "That can wait, Sofia." He moved toward me. I sucked in breath. "Oh, no?" Instinctively I put my hand on my stomach. "No…" he looked terrified. "Ezio, are you alright?" He turned from me and walked to the bookshelf. "I…" he struggled to find the words to say. Then he turned, walked to me and put his hand on my cheek. "You are an extraordinary woman, Sofia." I felt my cheek heat up and felt my stomach flip. "But I cannot bring you into this war… I am.. tortured." He was quiet a moment. Then, I reached up and removed his hood. The look in his eyes pained me. He really was tortured. "Ezio, what war? What are you talking about?" I asked, trying and failing to hide my quickened heart. "This life i have lived for so long has not permitted me To find love. In fact, i have avoided it to save people from my life…. But I cannot deny my love for you anymore. You have… enchanted my life, Sofia." My heart pounded, I was speechless. I could not find the words. "Sofia? Please say something." "I… are you certain?" He smiled his half smile. "Of course, Sofia. I love you. I loved you since I met you." I put my hands around his neck and pulled his lips to mine. Slowly, gently, he began to push my dress off my shoulders.

"Ah." I said, " come with me, my love." I took his hand and led him to my bedchambers. When we arrived, I turned and slowly started to pull his greaves off, careful not to cut myself on the deadly assassins blade. Then I moved to his cape, released it from its clasp, and folded it gently on the chair. Next was his chest armor. It was heavy. But I managed to pull in down on top of his of his cape. He stopped me as I reached of his jacket.

"Sofia, I want you to know that you will be in danger. Your life will change immensely as will mine. If you love me, you must understand that."

"Ezio, you must explain to me what you mean, why will I be in danger– oh it does not matter. I do not care. I love you, I will endure anything you will. Without question or remorse. I am yours to control, to love forever until death takes us." And with that I removed his jacket and draped it over the arm of the chair. He pulled his tunic over his head.

"Oh mio dio!" I exclaimed. He body was scarred from battles of his past. The largest on his chest. I ran my fingers across them. "The body of an old warrior, I am afraid." Ezio muttered. Seeing the distant pain in his face, I kissed each one of them gently.

"They each tell a story, il mi amore. Like the pages of a book." He smiled and wrapped his arms around me. And with that, we escaped the world. Deep into the depths of each others souls. Moving as one. Ignoring the world around us. Spending all day in bed, only moving to eat.

Our life continued together as lives of people in love do. He told me of the assassins and the Order. I vowed to cherish and uphold the Creed as long as I lived.

When he laid his greaves down at Maysaf, I knew that he was truly mine.
