Disclaimer: Nope, don't own Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

Also, sorry if this turns out to be garbage. This is my first poem.

I tried.

Thalia Grace

More like Graceless Thalia

(Reluctant dancer,

Graceless prancer)

.

Thalia Grace the graceless

Her mother signed her up for class

She spins, she twirls, she pirouettes

Is that anger I see at last?

.

Better keep it hidden, darling,

or she'll make you take a fall

(Like Alice down the rabbit hole, but this time,

you'll hit the wall)

Better wisen up, darling,

in this world there are no heroes

(How can there be when you dance, she drinks,

and the checkbooks spit out zeroes?)

.

Then Jason's gone,

never to see another performance

(It isn't any good, now that mother's

further spoiled it)

.

The thoughts roll in, and worst of all they're true

How could you have saved Jason?

You can't even get out of dance lessons, darling

So stop looking so blue

.

Poor little lost girl,

what was she trying to sell?

Poor little lost girl,

she still knows the steps so well

(After all, they're ever so simple:

It's just one two three,

and suddenly,

I turn and then you're gone

and I begin to wonder how

life will ever go on

One two three,

then suddenly,

you're at my side again

or at least

you seem to be

but then the daydream ends)

.

But wouldn't it be nice not to be slipping?

Wouldn't it be nice to stop gripping?

No, darling, get away now

Run before the heartbreak catches up

Jason wouldn't want you to drown, you know

You're not fleeing, you're leaving

There's a difference

(ha, nope)

.

So she

L

E

A

V

E

S

and it's not abandoning her problems at all

She's stronger than that

Maybe

.

She runs away,

finds a new place to stay,

a new and improved

loving family

(If only the memories

the pain

the remorse

the dance lessons

didn't come, too)

.

So that was a random out of nowhere poem. I doubt it's going to get read, but to the few people who will read this, please tell me how I did in a review. I want to know if I did alright with poetry; I might come back to it (hopefully with something happier, but angst is easier to write for some reason) if people enjoyed it.

Again, like in all my stories, I encourage you to favorite and follow me and my work. I'm starting to feel like one of those YouTube channels that pushes everybody to 'like and subscribe' and I don't know is that's a good thing or not.

. . . Oh well.

A lot of the other poets that I really respect, like collapsar/WiseGirlGeek (yes, I know the name was recently changed to my breathing cosmos, but I feel like more people may recognize WiseGirlGeek) for example, are going through some plagiarism problems lately and they're having to close off some of their accounts. I don't really know them on a personal level, but they do some amazing poetry for this site. Go check out their work and tell them how awesome they are.
