The simple boy sat in his townhouse, which was secretly funded by the all-too-willing Royal Family, staring out the window. Instead of the usual picture of the bustling Castle Town Square, he saw the tarp-covered Marketplace, the huddling beggars, and the drenched faces of the normally lively gambling shops.

He sighed as he looked at the square, he sighed. It brought him great sadness to see the familiar area so alone. It had not appeared like this in this timeline. The boy thought back to a time when everybody knew his name and he was known the world around. The downpour only put emphasis on the boy's dark mood. Annoyed with himself and the castle that stood majestically, even through the pouring rain, turned round towards the rest of his townhouse.

He observed the shelves that were littered with artifacts from a different time. He stared at the dust-covered ocarina that rested in a glass-covered case. His eyes swept across the sitting room, and he took notice of the things he had collected from his travels in Termina, an alternate dimension. The boy came to a revelation.

There still was a place where he was known and loved, by more people than just the sages and the royal family. There was still a place where he could look everywhere and not feet the same heartache that he did now. He turned to the wall that all of his twenty-four masks hung, neatly dusted and maintained, unlike the unorganized shelves of gadgets from the six temples.

He walked over the the glass case, wondering if he could go back to Clock Town. He wondered if he could still feel the glory, the fame. He took his fist and shattered the glass.

With a wild grin and bloody knuckles, he brought the ocarina to his eyes and looked at it crazily. He would find a way.

The boy rushed to stuff the masks into a bag, taking care to make sure that none of them chipped or scratched. He gathered his weapons and tokens, placing them in a trunk. He dressed similarly to when he had first arrived, a dazed and confused Deku, in Clock Town.

With one last look at the dreary square, he brought the ocarina to his lips and began to play the Song of Soaring.
