The Lone Wanderer Tales
"Don't stare directly into the lights. It'll hurt your eyes. It's just… something you get used to down here."
I looked around. I really wanted to play with my blocks; the big man closed my gate.
He said some funny things. I couldn't understand him. He left the room. I yelled for help. Nothing.
I fiddled with a little weird thing on the metal gate, and I was free! Pleased with myself, I waddled out.
On my way to the toy bin, I tripped over a book. After 5 minutes, I stopped sobbing.
Interested, I flipped the cover open to see it was a picture book! My favorite!
On the cover was a cute little blonde boy. The cover read "You're Special!"
I flipped open the book and saw the blonde boy in a bikini. I started giggling.
The next page had the boy surrounded by body parts. Slightly less intrigued, I flipped again.
The boy now had a jump rope! Daddy wouldn't let me have one at the Vault 101 gift shop. Sad again!
Hoping for a fun page, I turned the page and saw the blonde boy giving me two thumbs up!
Now laughing, I turned the page and saw the boy reading a book! What a copycat!
Again, I turned the page and saw the boy standing on his hands. I can't do that!
The next and last page had the boy standing under a ladder and near a cat! His bad luck, not mine.
Then, Daddy came into the room and started laughing. I wonder why.
He started talking about a picture, then said something about my best friend, Amata!
Noticing I became exited at that exact word, he took me to her! What a day!
