Clare's POV

"Stop it!"

That was it. I just went through living hell and they are fighting! I seriously don't need this! I felt the warm tears on my hot face.

Flashback

We had been at the Dot and we were fighting.

"You said you wouldn't do this!" I practically screamed at him. He promised me he would stop fighting, but I caught him, again.

"Clare! Unlike you, I have to stand up for myself!"

"I'm not violent! At least I actually keep my promises!"

He shook his head. "I did it for you! Dammit Clare, sometimes I wonder.."

Not here. Not in front of him. "I'm sorry I can't deal with losing you! Do you know how it felt when I saw Fitz coming at you with a KNIFE before!"

"That had nothing to do with you! Why do you care so much!"

"Because I don't want to lose you!" I was shaking. "Please Eli..."

"You need to get it, Clare. You don't control me."

"I'm just trying to help!"

"I don't need it! God Clare, sometimes your so clueless."

I was getting mad. "Maybe I shouldn't care. Maybe I should go around fighting people!"

"Will you stop being such a bitch and live a little?"

Those words stung, especially from him.

"Fuck you Eli." He was obviously surprised, I noticed his eyes go wide. I never curse. "Don't talk to me ever again."

Before he could reply, I ran home. I could hear him yelling after me, but I kept running.

My parents kept fighting. I screamed. They turned their heads to figure out where the scream came from.

"What Clare?" My dad grumbled.

"You have a daughter! Goddamit, sometimes I might as well be dead!"

Before they could reply, I ran out the door and hopped on my bike. I kept pedalling faster and faster. I needed to get away from here, from everybody. I needed to feel something besides hate and frustration. I had a broken heart and two parents who couldn't care less for me. My sister was in Kenya and Alli was with Jenna, that whore who stole my boyfriend. I was done. I kept thinking about this. I checked my watch and noticed it was 2 A.M. I kept pedaling. I had no idea where I was at that moment, it all happened in slow motion. I was thinking about all of this when I saw the brightness of the headlights. Next thing, I was on the ground, my body in shock. Everything was fuzzy and what had hit me drove away. The last thing I heard was some music which I recongized was Deadhead.

"CLARE!"

Then everything went black.
