A slightly late birthday gift for my friend DarkwingFan. She's had it real rough at times, and this is my way of showing her that I love her, that I'll always stand by her.

You have always been there for me;
Likewise, I've tried to be there for you.
It's amazing how far we've come,
All the situations we've been through.

We've had our ups and our downs,
The good times, along with the bad;
Times when we laughed and were happy,
Times when we cried and were sad.

You suffered your share of trials,
As have I, with my own.
But no matter how difficult it's been,
We've never had to endure it alone.

People have tried to tear you down,
Leaving you with emotional scars.
But in spite of what they do and say,
I love you just the way you are.

So, lift up your head, my sweet friend;
It will be all right, wait and see.
I've never given up on you,
So, don't you give up on me.
