This is just a Dream

Me: I was listening to Carrie Underwood's song, "Just a Dream" and I decided to write this story.

Itachi: Breezy-chan doesn't own Naruto or the song Just a Dream by Carrie Underwood.

"Sakura! Get back here! It's raining and freezing outside!" A young twenty year old called out the door as he ran towards his girlfriend of six years.

Sakura was running away from her boyfriend. She was crying and couldn't feel her arms. She wanted to keep on running forever until she fell on concrete and scraped her knee until it was bleeding. She stumbled over towards grass until she fell down and sobbed.

"Sakura! Are you okay?" Her boyfriend asked.

He pulled her close and she sobbed into his already soaking wet shirt. That was… until he pulled out a box.

"I know it's probably not the right time but, I wanted to do this. I need to do this. Now. I can't wait."

Sakura's eyes grew wide as she opened up the box; reveling a diamond ring enclosed inside. She looked up at him. The tears had finally stopped.

"Marry me."

She tackled him into the ground and kissed him so hard that she was sure that her lips would burst. But, she didn't care. Not in the least bit.

He chuckled a bit.

"I guess I'll take that as a yes then."

Music played slowly as Sakura Uchiha danced around the kitchen. Her husband was supposed to be coming home this week. She had all of the letters that he had sent to her from the Army in the side compartment of her truck. She yelled the lyrics at the top of her lungs.

"You're my one and only girl."

She was almost done with cooking the apple pie when the door bell rung. Sakura blinked before grinning from ear to ear when she noticed a bit of Army uniform outside of the door as she glanced out the window. She ran to the door and threw it open only to not see her husband. Rather, his commander.

"Uhm… can I help you?" She asked timidly.

He didn't say any words. Just handed her a white envelope. She opened it up.

"Nothing will ever take you away from me, I will never let you go."

She could have sworn that she died.

Dear Mrs. Uchiha,

The Department of the Army deeply regrets to inform you that your husband, Sasuke Uchiha, First Class US Army soldier, was killed in action while trying to serve his country.

Best wishes,

The Army

The tears never stopped that day. They kept on going and going. They came even more on the day of his funeral.

"Just say I do."

All the while Sakura was walking down towards his casket, she kept on chanting, "This is just a dream. This is just a dream."

But it wasn't.

"I have our whole life planned out just for us."

They handed her a folded up flag in remembrance of her husband, Sasuke, and the only thing that she had left of him.

Her heart was tearing apart. She wasn't married to him for that long either but she just couldn't take it.

"I just want to spend my last night here, with you."

Her heart, her life, her love, were ripped away from her grasp. Right when she had a hold of everything in her life. Everything was just right.

Then everything wasn't.

"We're going to be married forever."

But then, right as she found no point to live, she was pregnant.

With his child. With her husbands child.

She still had a little more of him with her, inside her.

Suddenly, life didn't seem so bad after all.

"No matter what, I will always be there for you."
