"Hurry up Alice, we are going to be soo late for the dance tonight you don't want to be late for this marvelous occasion!" "Fine I will be right there Jane!" For as long as I had
known Jane she had been my best friend… and impatient too. But we didn't have any secrets, well except one, but hey, she would freak out if she knew mine. Some things are
better left alone. I slipped on my dress, which was so pretty, and fairly long too since it had to cover the knees. It was a pretty blue color with white polka dots; my favorite dress of
all times, and best of all it complimented my skin tone. I had always been pale which really stinks. Some people are gifted, two hours in the sun and they look beautiful, but for me
five hours in the sun and I just get burned.
I ran down the stairs to greet Jane, of course she looked beautiful, and her red dress looked as if it were painted onto her hugging to her curves perfectly showing off the good
and hiding the bad. She had curled her long blonde hair into ringlets, while I had just let my long black hair sit on my shoulders. Don't get me long I absolutely love my long black
hair and so did everyone else but sometimes I wish it was a little less of a hassle.
"Let's Go!" Jane exclaimed, obviously excited. There by the car were Henry and George, Jane's boyfriend. George's eyes almost popped out of his head when he saw Jane and
I would bet my life on it that he had drool coming out of his mouth. Henry, used to the way she looked, came over and gave us a hug complimenting each us about how cool we
looked.
Henry, Jane, and I had been friends for forever and we all loved each other so much, it was as if we are all related triplets separated at birth is what we referred to each other in
fifth grade. Henry was the kind of person you just had to love. A geek, yes, but our geek, but he was just our Henry pushing aside all of the smart guy talk. Jane and George sat in
the front which left Henry and I in the back. I put my head against the window and looked out at the moon such a beautiful thing tonight I would love to go to the moon. If they ever
made a machine that could go there I would be on it in a heart beat. I was sitting there and all of a sudden my head started to hurt. Oh no! Come on this is the night if the dance I
wanted to have a normal human life just this once, but my so called gift had ruined that dream once again. I saw Tim the all American high school jock with Taylor his beloved
cheerleader girlfriend talking and they looked like they were arguing about something and she walked away leaving him alone. What was so important about this vision that it had to
ruin my big night? Then he got into his car and started driving as fast as he could and missed a turn and fit a tree. Oh God. That Is why I saw that, but will I risk my normal human
life and friends and not hated status to save this boy, who had never done anything for me's life?
This question haunted me for the rest of the ride and Henry just stared at me with worry in his eyes. He was probably wondering what in the world was wrong because I was not
being my usually giddy self smiling and talking about stuff. But now was a time to be serious I had a decision to make.
