Frost Bitten Roses

They loved each other
so much
He loved her
and she loved him
They thought that was all
they needed.
So deep was their love
It scared them apart
Like frostbitten roses
Their hearts broke and crumbled
He missed her silvery laugh
And her golden hair
She missed his black hair
and his piercing blue eyes
Like frostbitten roses
They were beautiful but sad
She cried herself to sleep
And he didn't sleep, just pace.
One day she rushed from her house
Determined to get him back
But she stopped halfway,
heart in her throat
For there he was
She cried as she sunk to the curb
He looked up, his angel!
Please stop your tears he thought
"My golden Angel"
She looked up, her blonde hair
cascading across her face
"Your angel?" blue eyes begging for it to be true
And he knelt and held her tight
The Moon and the Earth together once more.
