Memories
Sitting down near the orchard tree Mai looked at her friends Azula and Ty Lee doing cartwheels. Unlike her friends, Mai was always distant, shy and hardly showed any emotion. Yet she didn't understand why prince Zuko would always make her feels like a girl. Her parents always thought her to never show emotion, don't speak unless spoken to, and to never disobey orders given to her. Her eyes wondered from her friends to prince Zuko .
"He will never like me, I bet he doesn't even no that I'm a girl. Most people don't" Mai thought but clueless to her Azula and Ty Lee witnessed her behavior throws Zuko and the blush that appeared on her face.
"Watch this," Azula told Ty Lee. She went to where her mother and brother were walking and tried to put on a fake smile. "Mom can Zuko come play with us?"
"No, I don't want to play with you or your stupid friends." Zuko yelled to his sister.
"Mom we need even teams to play and isn't a big brother supposed to play with his little sister?" Azula asked in the sweet voice she could make.
"Zuko go play with your sister, at least for a little while" Fire Lady Ursa said as she walked a sigh Zuko followed his sister to were Mai and Ty Lee were standing at.
"Ok you guys, we're going to be in teams me and Ty Lee and Mai and Zuko. The object of the game is to knock an apple from the opponents head, got it?"
After saying that Azula picked an apple from the tree and placed it on top of Mai's head, she got back to her position, and as soon as she placed the apple on her head it caught fire. Without having a second thought, Zuko ran for Mai trying to remove the apple from her head. In the process, he knocked but Mai and him into the fountain.
" AWW that look so cute together" Ty Lee yelled in excitement.
"You guys are so messed up, why would you do such a thing like that?' Mai yelled. And she looked at Zuko who smiled at her before he turned around to go find his mother. At that moment, Mai never felt as loved as she did just by someone looking at her.
The New Fire Lord and Fire Lady
"What are you thinking of?" Zuko asked.
"When we were kids, and the day I fell in love." She answered. "When did you fall in love with me Fire Lord?"
"Um the day I saved you from getting your hair burned, what about you, Fire Lady?"
"Me too, I love you Zuko, and I always have and will"
"I love you too and - "
"Mommy, Daddy Aurora doesn't want to play with us" The twin's boys came rushing into the master bedroom.
Zuko just smiled and looked at Mai and when their eyes met, they knew that they were in love. It has been years since the war ended and everyone was trying to rebuild and yet even through all the deaths and destruction thy found each other. Since the first time they met, they knew it was love at first sight.
