Dry Bowser and Toadette were out for a jog around the Mushroom Kingdom as they were trying to get into shape for the next sports tournament that would soon take place, with the skeletal reptile and pink mushroom girl trying to get the last two available spots as they knew they were limited.
"Man, why don't we run often?" Toadette asked as she brushed back her pink pigtails.
"Because you don't have legs and I'm made of bones, several of which are fragile!" Dry Bowser explained as he glanced behind him to see some of his bones fall out, proving his point.
Toadette murmured as she lowered her eyes. "Jeeze, you don't have to be so moody about it..."
"Who said I was moody?" Dry Bowser muttered in annoyance as he brushed back his red hair.
As the two joggers were arguing, they went past a restricted area that was covered in red and white barricades, of which neither of the two noticed as they jogged past them. The two continued to argue as they entered into a tunnel, wondering what was going on as it was all dark inside.
"G-gee, it's kinda dark..." Toadette gulped as she couldn't make out anything.
"You bring a light?" Dry Bowser asked as he began dusting off his dusty bones.
"...NO." Toadette stated as she turned her head around, wondering if she was actually saying it to Dry Bowser.
"Well maybe... wait, what am I saying?" Dry Bowser remarked as he scratched his head.
The two didn't have enough time to process, as they heard a loud horn blaring. Dry Bowser and Toadette turned around, screaming as a giant blue and green colored truck coming towards their way as they then began dashing off, going faster than they were before as they exited the tunnel for which they were in.
Petey Piranha was snoozing nearby as he briefly woke up, watching the unlucky duo dash right by him as the truck followed, shrugging as he went back to sleep. Dry Bowser grabbed a nearby vine and had Toadette in his grip as he began swinging through the foliage of the jungle, narrowly missing the truck squashing them as he smirked, only to lose confidence as they went colliding into a tree, with Toadette falling into a bush full of berries while Dry Bowser broke into various bone fragments. The tree collapsed, falling down and crushing various plants as all sorts of bugs buzzed away, with birds chirping in the distance.
