She walked out of the bushes and sakura trees. His breath caught in his throat as she turned, saw him and smiled. It caught him completely off guard.

She raised her hand and with a slight grin of his own, he raised his and walked to her. He was quite tall compared to her and so had to look up to meet his gaze.

"Hello," she said with a smile and turned to look out over the water.

He continued to look at her, her dark hair glimmering in the light of the evening sun and shedding such a delicate glow on her...

He longed to touch her silky smooth hair, tuck it behind her ear, touch the smooth skin of her cheek, lose himself in the glorious depths of her dark eyes...

Then she turned and those eyes, those lovely brown orbs that weren't quite the colour of chocolate, but more like a sun-kissed lake at noon. She reached up and picked up a petal from his spiky silver hair. They hadn't said anything to each other, but it seemed like each knew what the other was thinking...

Taking her fingers in his, he kissed each of them as she watched, a bit taken aback, but a lot more thrilled. Touching his face, she drew him to her and raised her face. As gently as she dared, for fear of rejection, she brushed his lips with hers. Blushing, she was about to draw back when his hand behind her neck stopped her. He didn't move, didn't say a word...

The wait seemed to last forever. She held her breath waiting. He was fighting with himself. He would regret it if things between them went wrong. Could he resist her? Could he do it? If he pulled away now, he would end it, probably forever. That meant he would have to let go of her forever, never know what might have happened... But he couldn't let that happen. Such cowardly things weren't in his nature.

Her hand snaked up his chest very slowly as he made a decision. He lowered his lips to hers and his arms wrapped around her. She ran her fingers up and into his hair, a smile playing on her lips. She pulled away slowly leaving small kisses all over his mouth. His eyes were closed as he experienced the vastly new sensations playing havoc with his nerves. For the life of him, he couldn't let her go in that moment if he wanted to.

He leaned his forehead on hers and murmured, a frown on his handsome features, "I'm extremely confused."

She had never heard him speak so softly. She reached up and kissed him then replied, "Me too."

The grin that lit his face then nearly blinded her. "Then we can be confused together," he said taking her hand in his. With a smile, she turned in his arms as they watched the sun set, her hands on his, his hands holding her in place in front of him.

He kissed her hair and sighed. He had made a new decision. Things would be very different from then on.
