Give That Back!

Or The Tale of Two Cousins

Disclaimer: I actually own most things about this story. I own the characters, and a bow like the one used, and a bag like the one used, and Narnia books and trading cards. So, does that mean I own everything?

"ARTHUR!"

"Hannah, what's wrong?" My cousin Rose asked me.

"Your brother took my bag!"

"What's so bad about that?"

"It has my Narnia books and trading cards in it!"

"Ooh. He better look out."

"Yep." I took off, trying to find him. Finally, success. He was standing, with my bag on the ground beside him, holding a loaded bow. There was a target in front of a tree near him. "Give that back." I said through gritted teeth.

"Fine! I didn't want it anyway." He said, throwing it to me. I caught it and checked inside to make sure everything was there as he said, "I just took it to get you out here with me without the others around. I wanted to shoot a little with you."

"Um, you could have just asked me."

"I know, but they would have heard."

"Fair point."

"So, do you want to shoot?" He offered me the bow.

"Sure!" I took it, pulled back, aimed, and released.

To my astonishment, the arrow hit the target! It wasn't in any of the rings, but it was in the target! (I wasn't very good at aiming at the time.)

"Art, look! I hit the target!" I was so excited that I hugged him.

"Yeah." He said, trying to pry me off of him.

"Sorry. I'm just very happy." I said, grinning.

"I can understand that." He said. I was grinning for the rest of the day. Little did I know that the next day (in this time, anyway), I wouldn't be concerned with merely hitting my target anywhere, but with having perfect accuracy.

Author's Note: OK, so, this came to me while playing with one of my (male) cousins yesterday. It takes place the day before A Tale of a Lion, a Witch, and a Wardrobe begins.
