Their families were at a loss for words. One moment, their children were there, next they were just… gone. Spending their lives not knowing if they were dead or alive… happy and healthy, or if the worst had happened to them. They each had their own family, and HE stole them. Took them all as his own. They don't remember their families, the delightfulization made it so they thought Father was their parent. Does Benedict Uno even realize the pain and agony he had caused? Of course. Does he care? No. Because he gained his five perfect, mature, wonderful delightful children. Sector Z was gone.
Bruce's parents had split up after a few years of him being gone, they couldn't handle being around each other… nor staying in the town where he went missing. They're on good terms though, and often talk on the phone. The police still has his case, even though its cold. His file with the big letters Bruce Wilson slowly collecting dust.
Ashley's parents… weren't as at peace. Her mother overcome with grief had snapped. Warning herself to be admitted into the psycho ward. Her father drinks his sadness away as he pays the hospital bills, which are slowly drowning him into debt. Her mother rocks herself. Often mumbling the name "Ashley Ann… where's my little Ashley?..." Never knowing the answers. The Vasquez family were stuck in the past. Unable to go on into the future…. Not without Ashley.
The Lino residence had gone from the nice family home David grew up in to a yelling, drug filled shit hole. Both parents arguing and fighting all the time, drinking and smoking. It's a wonder how they're still together. Maybe they just feel they owe it to their son. Wherever he may be. If he were to just… come home. His mother was a bit more worse off. Often blaming his dad for David being gone. He knows she's in pain… and the drugs cloud her mind. They cloud his too. They break down a lot, holding each other and apologizing… then the cycle starts again.
Leonard "Lenny" Gutiérrez's face was still plastard on missing signs all around town. His family going to church daily and praying that he will come home… or at least… that he's safe and healthy. His dad is the pastor you see, and once a week he preaches about loving your child and keeping Them close to you. They're God's gifts, cherish and love them always. His mother used to attend the sermons… not anymore. Her faith has diminished… his father doesn't blame her. Because a part of him feels it too.
Constance's mother buried her grief with work. Constantly working and working. A savvy business woman who used to smile and joke to a strict no nonsense woman. She keeps her life private and she lives in seclusion. Not many coworkers know of Diane Hernandez's past…. Or of her missing daughter. Her mother knows that if for just a moment… she lets her guard down, that she will sink into a unforgiving grief. She keeps her daughters door closed… and hires a maid to keep it clean.
They all used to talk, to try and comfort each other. But it proved to be too painful after a while. They just want their kids back… but Father had taken them for his own. He had changed them, molded them into the Delightful Children. Does he realize what he's done? Yes. Does he care? No.
