Saviors

She watched her boss try to self destruct day in and day out, and she worried about him. She knew what it was like to be in pain, to go around like she had complete confidence and could control herself while really she was just afraid of everything and didn't know when she might lash out. But she noticed a drastic difference between herself and her boss that made her stop worrying after a while.

House was all the negative words you could think of to describe a person. He was arrogant and payed about as much attention to rules as she paid to her disease. And yet, no matter how many stupid things he did, no matter how many rules he broke, he was never alone. He had a best friend, the most loyal, caring person in the whole hospital. Wilson devoted most of his attention to House, and everyone knew that without Wilson, House would be too unstable, too damaged to function. Wilson saved House every day, sometimes more than once; sometimes House knew it and sometimes he didn't have a clue. Sometimes House got into trouble just to have Wilson by his side; sometimes, he didn't even know he was in trouble when Wilson came to his rescue.

But she didn't have that. She acted like she was fine, like she was alone by choice. She refused help when it was offered to her, not that she ever knew why she did so. Sometimes, when she knew she would die without it, she sought help, but usually, she repressed everything and put up a shield. She was on a downward spiral, but to her it was a high. She sought danger, craved pain, and wanted drama. They kept her mind off of what she really wanted, a repeat savior like House had, instead of all the people who helped once or twice before leaving. She shut Foreman out, because he wasn't even trying to save her. He was only using her, and she was sick of it.

Every morning, she would wake up, wondering if she would need a savior that day. Every day, she would try to self destruct, just like House would, only she was more subtle. Evey night, she would go to bed, wondering who her next savior would be.
