Disclaimer: Nope, I don't own Doctor Who.
A/N: When I wrote this I had the 10th Doctor in mind. Oh, and to T'Kirr; I've just thought of a different way of phrasing it. Thanks for your input! : D
Brown Eyes
Soul–deep brown eyes gaze from a pale face,
Sometimes in reproach, sometimes in judgement.
They shine with delight, almost childishly
As they greedily take in new wonders;
They harden in fury, a warning to
The wrong–doers that the Storm is coming,
And fill with sympathy for their victims;
They fill with sadness as he surveys the
Injustices committed around him;
They set with resolve to help each new cause.
These eyes have seen limitless spectacles,
And will keep seeing long after you've gone.
If you look at him, the one with those eyes,
You will be trapped, lost in their endless depth,
You will see countless overlapped layers,
Countless barriers to protect himself
From heartbreak and unbearable anguish
The Universe always wreaks upon him.
If you look closely, the brown radiates
The loss, the loneliness, the guilt, the grief,
And, always, the spark that makes him unique.
They watch o'er the universe with heavy
Hearts, for the spiteful universe always
Seems to snatch back what it briefly gave him.
This regeneration's soul–deep eyes are
Easy to read. Old eyes; a young body.
You only wish you could help soothe away
The pain that plagues the soul behind the eyes.
