Disclaimer: Twilight and its attractive characters all belong to the almighty Stephenie Meyer, not to me.
This poem was inspired by Bella and Jacob's conversation in Chapter 26 Ethics in Eclipse. I've always felt pretty bad for Jacob because like Bella, I love him – I just love Edward more. So anyway, comments would be most welcome as always. Enjoy!
Eclipse
My Jacob, my might-have-been
My personal sun
There's no way for you to win
Oh, what have I done?
You're part of me, too
Rooted deep in my heart
I guess I do love you
And I can't bear us to part
But my love for you isn't the same
As your love for me
On my heart is a stronger claim
Forged by destiny
We cannot be together
Why don't you see?
You deserve someone better
Who can love you fully
He and I are meant to be
And though I hate to cause you pain
We're going to marry
My feelings will not change
Even as I tell you so
A sigh parts your lips
For you know, as I know
You can't fight an eclipse
