Just a short story inspired by That Home/To Build A Home by The Cinematic Orchestra. Hope you enjoy it, because I'm really fond of it.
"What's this?", Spencer asked.
There was a small box wrapped in brown paper on his desk. The three other agents looked up at him and shrugged.
"I don't know", Morgan said. "Didn't you put this there?"
"I wouldn't ask what it is if I had put it here, would I?", he replied
If it had gone through the gates, it was nothing dangerous. Spencer had a sudden shyness as to open it in front of his teammates and he put it in his bag before going back to work. He forgot about the small package until the end of the day and as he sat in his car, he remembered and decided to open it. It was a key. A small, golden key with a note attached to it. An address. Reid set it into his GPS and took off to the destination, the mystery of all this getting to him.
He stopped in front of a house, moderately big in something we could call almost a countryside of D.C. It was isolated, with forrest around it, but not decrepit. Instead, it was beautiful, with grand windows and Spencer walked to it, trying to avoid the rain and he stepped on the front porch, hesitating a second before opening the door.
He found himself in a big hallway with 12 feet ceiling. It was obviously a very old antique house and Spencer walked further in it, the floor creaking under every step he took. Lights were lit up in a room and he found himself in the living.
"I hope you would come so soon", a voice said behind him once he was in the middle of the room.
A chandelier was hanging over his head as he spun around.
"David?", he asked. "What is this all about?"
His lover came closer to him and he took a deep breath.
"I wanted you and I to have somewhere to be together", he explained.
"You bought a house?", Spencer squealed, eyes wide.
"I got us a home", David whispered.
Home. The word echoed in Reid's mind and the genius hugged David tightly.
"Thank you. This is wonderful", he breathed.
Please please please leave a review if you enjoyed it. This was a one shot thing and there will probably be nothing coming after that, unless I really feel it.
