|GOTHAM CITY
|5 JULY
|21:32 EDT
The moon hung in the sky, shining in all it's beauty. Its dim light illuminated the empty streets of the city known as none other than Gotham. A city where shadows and monsters lurk at night. A city with the most horrific criminals one has ever encountered.
A soft breeze blew, making the leaves shiver. Night creatures sang their songs softly, not minding it when a dog's howl joined their chorus for a few seconds before fading away.
That's when a cackle filled the air. The cackle seemed to belong to a figure who was jumping from roof top to roof top and then landing gracefully on to the Gotham's Museum's roof.
Death smirked, straightening up and propping her hands on her hips. The com-link in the teenager's ear burst to life.
"You there, Pretty Girl?"
Pressing a finger to the small device fixed in her ear, she answered. "I'm on top of the Museum's roof, Daddy." She answered, cocking her head up, her grey eyes meeting the full moon.
"Good, girl." Her father praised, "Now take them out."
She nodded, despite knowing the fact her father couldn't see her. Flipping down into a tree, Death dropped down onto the building's grass. A curse left her lips when she landed on a broken branch, producing a loud crack.
"Freeze!"
She turned around, silver gaze meeting a guard who looked anything but pleased. Aiming his gun at her, he growled. "Stay where you are, or else I'll shoot!"
Death cocked an eyebrow, unamused by his threat. "We don't want anyone getting hurt." She smirked, tilting her head a bit, her black curly ponytail swishing right and left.
When he kept the gun's nozzle towards her, she did an eye roll before chanting a spell. "Taeh eht nopaew tlem."
The guard gasped, dropping the gun when it began glowing red, its metal hot as fire as it started to melt. His heart began pounding in his chest as the tip of a sharp dagger was pressed against his chin.
"You scream," Death hissed in his ear, "And I'll slit your throat!"
Feeling helpless, the guard merely whispered softly. "Please," He murmured, "I have a family."
Death bit her bottom lip. Without further ado, she slammed the back of her fist against his head. She huffed, seeing the guard collapse onto the ground, unconscious.
"Always with the family pleases." She mumbled, spinning on her heel and running over to the Museum's circuit board. Pulling out a few wires, a grin tugged her lips. "This'll do the trick." She looked pleased with her handiwork.
The girl jogged towards the Museum's gate, very unimpressed by the two guards sleeping on their chairs.
"So much for security," Death rolled her eyes before mischievously glancing at the guards. "But I'm bored." She smirked, silver eyes twinkling.
She tapped her left foot on the ground, her metal heeled combat boot giving out a sound of loud clicks. When she got no response from the sleeping men, a frown framed her features.
Bringing her hand up to her mouth, Death blew out a cat whistle. As soon as the whistle screeched through the silent atmosphere, one of the guards jolted awake, tripping over his chair in the process.
A snicker left her lips as she drew out her daggers, waiting impatiently as the guards got onto their feet. The men blinked, staring at her.
She seemed to be about thirteen; wearing a leather black jacket, a skirt barely reaching her knees and a grey undershirt that matched her bright silver eyes. Her black curly locks messy but tied neatly in a ponytail. And her mask, a mask that had a horrific symbol of teeth printed on it.
Death's shoulders slumped, not liking it when they brought their old rusty guns in her direction. Didn't any of them knew weapons weren't much fun to fight with?
"Stop where you are or else-"
She cut them short. "Yeah, yeah. Or else you'll shoot me." The brunette completed nonchalantly, smirking at their scowling faces.
A low kick at the feet there and a roundhouse kick there and in a few seconds, the guards lay unconscious at her feet.
"You guys are such rookies," Death sighed, pushing the building's gate open.
Stalking inside, her eyes roamed around the enormous room, glancing from statue to statue as she crouched down near the feet of a sculpture. "It's all clear, Daddy." Death declared, smiling as the vent above her broke and a man landed down before her.
Placing his fists on his hips, Sportmaster gave his daughter an unimpressed look. "You took so long, Pretty Girl." He scolded, walking around the statue and near to a wooden door.
"You should know how to get the job done fast,"
Death argued, "I only took twenty minutes!" She jutted her lip out into a childish pout. "And last time I took thirty!" She reminded him, folding her arms over her chest.
Ignoring the whining teen, Sportsmaster kicked the door open. A grin tugged his lips as he entered the room, pleased at what he saw.
Death was quick to follow, walking behind him. Her eyes seemed to sparkle as she admired the number of ancient jewels in the room. But what she liked most, were the really lovely set of diamond earrings placed in a corner.
"Ooh!" She squealed, hopping on her toes. Twirling around, Death smiled up at her father. "Can I get those earrings, Daddy?!" Death asked, clasping her hands infront of her chest. "Please!" She gave him puppy-dog eyes.
Sportsmaster chuckled, ruffling her messy black hair. "Sure you can, sweetie." Smiling down at her, he nodded. "Help yourself, darling."
A small giggle of delight left her lips as Death sped over to the corner of the room. Shaking his head, Sportsmaster made his way towards the object he had came here for the first place.
The blonde man admired the beautiful golden amulet lying underneath its glass case, the dim light falling on it causing it to sparkle. He lifted the glass case up, throwing it aside and taking the amulet in his hand.
Death ignored the shattering of the glass, eyes fixed on the shimmering diamond earrings beneath the glass case. Hovering her gloved hand above it, she allowed a spell to escape her lips.
"Evom."
The glass levitated up in the air, floating aside as Death waved her hand before delicately picking up the earrings, her fingers feeling the cool pieces of jewelry.
"You know, Daddy?" Death began, pulling out a sack and stuffing the jewels inside it. "They say a diamond's a girl's best friend," Holding up a gold ring, the girl smiled widely. "I guess they say it for a reason."
Smirking at her, Sportsmaster tightened his grip around the gold amulet, taking a step ahead. "Ready to go, Death?"
The dark magician answered with a nod, happily swinging the sack of jewels over her shoulder as she walked towards the blonde man.
A miniature cackle echoed around them, "Leaving so soon?"
Death blinked questionably, cocking her head to Sportsmaster who gave a low growl. When he sent her a stern look, Death vigorously nodded, readying herself to cast a spell.
"Emoc tuo ni ot eht thgil." She whispered.
Sportsmaster narrowed his eyes, jaw clenching as a man and a boy walked out from the shadows. Cracking his knuckles, the blonde man smirked. "Well, if it isn't Batman and his stupid sidekick."
Death placed the sack of jewels down, watching amusingly as Batman glowered at her father slash mentor. "Put the jewels back, Sportsmaster." The dark knight ordered, glaring at the blonde man.
Sportsmaster narrowed his eyes, "As if I'm gonna listen," The blonde man snorted, launching onto the caped crusader.
Death placed a hand on her hip, staring excitedly as her father fought Batman. Her ears perked up, feeling a sudden presence behind her. Giving out a spin kick, she turned around, glare falling on a boy with a bright colored costume.
"Hi, there!" Robin cracked her a grin, grabbing her foot before it connected with his face. "Looks like we're new, huh?" He asked, smiling brightly.
He easily dodged a punch, stepping aside, the grin firmly plastered on his face. "Let's welcome you Bat style!" The boy wonder cackled, pulling out birdarangs and throwing them at her.
Death kept silent, eyes glaring daggers at him as she black flipped, dodging the exploding birdarangs. "My name is Death," She spat, dodging another brigthly colored boomerang. "And I'm gonna kill you." She gave out a snarl.
"Really?" Robin grinned, "I'm too young to die." He gave his signature cackle.
Narrowing her eyes, Death's silver gaze fell upon his golden utility belt and for a second, her eyes almost sparkled. "I like that belt," She smirked, eyes shining.
"I want it." The magician announced.
Robin couldn't help but cock an eyebrow when the brunette brought her hands up in the air, chanting something backwards.
"Tleb eb enim." Death smirked.
Feeling his eyes widen as saucepans, Robin stared as his golden utility belt appeared in her hands. "How did you...?" He blinked as the girl grinned from ear to ear.
"You wanna see more, Bird Brain?" Death smirked cockily. "Hsinav!" She sang, clasping her hands together with the belt still in them. When she opened her hands, a small smoke escaped, the belt nowhere in sight.
Pulling out a dagger, Death charged at Batman's protégé. A growl left her mouth when he grabbed her arm, throwing her across the room. Sliding to the other side, the magician glared, a few locks of black hair falling on her eyes.
She straightened up, blowing at the strand from the corner of her mouth as Robin's hands gravitated to his hips, a grin tugging his lips.
"Ha! Even without my belt, I can still beat you!" He laughed tauntingly, ignoring the sudden chills that started from his legs and crawled up to his spine.
Did the temperature get low all of a sudden?
The boy wonder stared in confusion when Death suddenly burst into laughter. He arched an eyebrow, "Hey!" He glared at her chuckling figure, "What's so funny?" Robin demanded angrily.
"Well, it's just that-" Death guffawed, cluthcing her stomach. She hooted with laughter, "I've gotta say!" She giggled, "You've got good taste in underwear!"
Robin didn't have the dumbest idea what she had just said. His hands instantly flew to his hips where his belt was supposed to be. And since there was no belt, his pants had fallen down.
The worst part if it was that he was wearing the red underwear with bat symbols printed on it.
This.
Was.
Embarrassing.
Death laughed, feeling her breath shorten as the boy wonder pulled his pants back up, his face flushed red while he glared murderously at her.
"Time to go, Pretty Girl." Sportsmaster called out to her.
Wiping a tear from her eye, Death nodded in answer, smirking like a devil. "Sure thing, Daddy." She sang out to her father, readying herself for another spell.
She grinned at Robin who was busy fixing his pants "Oh and I'm keeping the belt as a souvenir." Smiling widely, she clapped her hands. "Ekoms dnuorrus su."
Just as the spell ended, dark clouds of smoke started emerging from the tiled floor, blurring their visions. But when it cleared away, none of the villains could be seen.
Batman scowled, looking over at Robin.

"Can't believe we lost the loot!" Sportsmaster barked, furiously pacing around the rooftop.
Death stood there, her gaze rose upwards to him as he growled out curses. "Daddy," She piped up softly.
"We had it in our hands!" The blonde man scowled, punching the nearby wall.
Glancing at the now large dent in the concrete, Death tried again. "Daddy!" She called out to him but the man was too busy fuming to hear her.
"And that damned bat and his damned sidekick got in the way!"
"DADDY!"
Snapping his head at her, Sportsmaster sent a glare that made the girl squirm. "WHAT?!" He yelled in anger.
He blinked when she held her hand out, the golden amulet tangled around her fingers. A smirk stretching his lips, Sportsmaster caught it when she tossed it to him.
"You got the amulet," He grinned victoriously, his thumb tracing the cool gold.
Grey eyes twinkling with mischief, Death crossed her arms over her chest. "Relax, Dad." She smirked, cocking her hip out. Her gaze rose upwards, matching his.
"Anger's bad for health, you know?"
Death felt her chest puffing up with pride when he grinned down at her, patting her back. "Good job, Pretty Girl." Sportsmaster praised, grinning whilst making plans to sell the amulet at a good price.
Glancing at the shimmering diamonds in her ears, he walked forward. "And as for your reward, we'll get ice-cream on our way back."
Lips tugging a grin, Death stole a glance at the full moon before following her father.
