"Blaine!" Kurt laughs as he watches the other boy skip along in front of him. He pulls his coat a little tighter around his middle, warding off the chill November air. "Blaine, you're going to slip and fall," he warns lightly.
His boyfriend ignores him and spins slowly in a circle, staring up at the stars. When he looks back over his shoulder, his eyes sparkle with what can only be described as wonder.
"You're beautiful."
"Did you ever think we'd be here-"
Both speak simultaneously and Blaine breaks off, ducking his head a little as his cheeks flush, the color only slightly visible in the moonlight.
"I mean it." Kurt steps closer and folds his boyfriend into his arms "But to answer your question, I always thought we'd come to New York – You know that. I always thought we'd be forever." He nuzzles his nose into Blaine's hair, but then pulls back slightly, fixing Blaine with a calculating eye "Did you?"
Blaine squeezes his arms a little tighter around Kurt's middle "I hoped. It was hard sometimes – You being here and me being in Lima," his voice comes out muffled and a little unsure from where his mouth is pressed against Kurt's scarf.
"Blaine Anderson." Kurt grabs Blaine's shoulders and catches his eye. "I said you wouldn't lose me, that day in Ms.-Pillsbury-I'm-not-really-a-relationship-counselor's office, remember?" Blaine pouts slightly at the sudden absence of warmth and tries to re-bury himself. Kurt pushes him back "No- Blaine- Just, listen. Look at me." His tone softens slightly and he presses kisses along Blaine's cheekbones. "I… love… you…" he murmurs between each one, and at the end a whispered "always."
Blaine looks a little dazed, but says "I know," as firmly as he can manage, pulling back a little and interlocking their fingers. He ducks back in to place a soft kiss on Kurt's lips, and then tugs on his boyfriend's hand, a slow grin forming on his mouth. "Come on," he says as he leads Kurt off the path.
"Blaine," Kurt hisses, reluctantly following after his boyfriend, "This is Central. Park. Emphasis on New York. We can't just wander off into the woods in the dark."
He's cut off when Blaine spins around and tugs Kurt to his chest. "Kurt, that's kind of the point. Central-Park-emphasis-on-New-York is safe for us. Safe. And the dark, the trees, the stars, the snow." Here he pulls back slightly and licks his lips. "Doesn't it exhilarate you at all?"
And now Kurt understands. A mischievous smile curving his lips, he steps in closer, running his hands up and down his boyfriend's arms, "Blaine…" he whispers, glancing around a little before his worry is shut down by Blaine's lips softly tracing over his own.
"No one's around." Blaine murmurs reassuringly, looping his arms loosely around Kurt's neck, and why exactly had Kurt been worrying? Because this was worth any stares, any comments behind hurriedly raised hands. This was Blaine, and as he lost himself in that feeling one though rung through his head, this was home.
