A/N: here's today's 221B drabble, based on the prompt nervous. I had planned on screwing the word limit and going over, but decided against it and had to delete over fifty words T_T painful. Still, I had a lot of fun writing this, and I hope you enjoy.

I tried giving the address to my LJ community where I post my miscellaneous fics, but it got filtered. I'll give you the name, and you know what to add after it to open an LJ comm =) it's fiction-palace

Nervous

Nervous. He was nervous. He couldn't even remember the last time he was nervous. He had gone through a lot of things, and he thought that he was already immune to it. Apparently not.

He had survived war in Afghanistan. He had shot a man to save his flatmate. He had been kidnapped countless of times, by the eccentric British government, due to a ridiculous case of mistaken identity, and even by a modern day super-villain. Never, in those moments, had he been nervous.

Yet now, standing in front of the register office, he was nervous, and to make matters worse, the man standing beside him was barely able to restrain himself from bouncing around (only because it would ruin his mysterious persona).

To be fair, it wasn't his idea. He was in the kitchen making himself a cup of tea when Sherlock ran out of his bedroom with a slightly manic expression on his face and yelled at him to marry him. The slight raise of his eyebrow was interpreted as a yes and the next thing he knew, the form was printed out and shoved into his hand.

A cold hand reached out for his hand and gave a squeeze that was meant to be reassuring. In that moment, he decided that the whole thing really wasn't so bad.
