HUNTING INUYASHA
Bending low in the grass, the young kit studied his prey. The hanyou was lying, sprawled across the tree branch, his eyes closed. The kitsu watched the boys ears twitch. His listened breathing was soft and steady. The hanyou was fast asleep. Good. The kitsu crept forward, his footsteps barely a whisper in the wind. He had to be careful. One sound could cause the hanyou to wake and ruin his game. But the hanyou didn't stir, not even when the kitsu crept forward, leaning over on the branch till he was close enough to touch him. Nothing. Perfect.
The kitsue scurried backwards, excited. Climbing two branches up, he carefully positioned himself over the teen. He began the count. Four, he stood straight up, acquiring his target. Three, he took a deep breath. Two, he put up his arms in a T, rising himself on the tips of his toes. ONE. He jumped, diving straight down through the trees. Like an acrobat, he let himself fall a foot before pulling his legs in, rolling his body into a ball which tumbled twice before hitting its target.
Inuyasha screamed as the child, landed hard on his stomach, tearing him from his peaceful sleep. He clawed at the air around him, instinctively attempting to ward off his attacker. The child dogged the swipes easily. Inuyasha frantically scanned the tree limbs, looking for the demon to dare to strike him. However, by the time he spotted Shippo, the child had already gotten a good head start. "Oy, runt. I am going to kill you."
The child smirked as he doubled his pace, sprinting for the relative safety of a young women's arm, his hunt successful for today.
