Cassandra, Cassie Monroe was getting ready for work. Her boyfriend didn't like it. He was pissed as usual. Though it seemed like the last fourteen months he had been nothing but pissed off and took everything out on her. It didn't help at all that as a Florest by profession she worked for the wife of the man who had taken his place at his job.
He was the one who was next in line of being in charge, but then the accident happened and he was run down and instead this woman's husband had gotten the job. Now all he did was take things out on her. From his brother bitching about the fact that this woman was trying to save some stupid gardens, to telling him that he should just leave and come work for him since he had been screwed out of the promotion due to the accident.
Cassie had no idea what happened to him. He was no longer the good ol' boy he used to be. Now he was just pissed off, bitter and would take everything out on her. Nothing seemed to please him, and to add insult to injury he had became physically, verbally, and emotionally abusive. Blaming her for everything that went wrong in his life.
He brought her back from college with him since she had no family. She was four years younger than him, and she had fallen for him with his boyish looks and his gentlemanly manner. Now she didn't even know who he was anymore. She didn't have much money and his family name was well known in the small Californian town.
"Are you even fucking listening to me?" David snarled.
"Sorry I was just trying to remember where my keys were." said Cassie.
"I don't know why you work for that bitch anyway. Her husband took my job. I should have been the one in charge, and now once again I'm number fucking two. Oh and this bullshit fundraiser to save some stupid ass gardens is for the birds." David said.
"I like my job and I like being a Florest. Though if you dont' want me doing that anymore what would you say about me buying that Ice Cream shop on main or maybe your brother would let me rent it out. I could put in a couple old fashioned video games and a pool table and it could be a safe hangout for the kids in this town no matter who they are." said Cassie.
"I'd much rather you stayed home, and no woman of mine is going to be running a business. I'd rather you be working for someone, but not Rita. Her husband took my fucking job!" once again he had to remind her of that.
"Well the garage is hiring some office help." said Cassie trying to compromise.
"ARE YOU COMEPLETLY OUT OF YOUR FUCKING MIND? NO WAY IN HELL ARE YOU WORKING THERE AMONG THAT TRASH AND FILTH!" David exploded.
"WELL WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO? I WANT TO WORK DAMN IT!" Cassie yelled back.
"I know you didn't just raise your voice at me." David said in a low dangerous tone. Cassie knew that voice. She had done it now, and before she even knew it David raised his fists and began hitting her. Only in places where the bruises could be covered up. Cassie went to a safe place in her mind as the assault on her continued.

Cassie pulled her Toyota Camery into a parking spot on front of the Flower Shop. Her car sounded like it was on its last legs. Time to put it back in the shop once again. Though it would have to be in another town. David wouldn't want her going to the one in town among, in his words, trash and filth.
Her back, belly, and ribs were killing her. Popping a Oxy she had bought off the street in Oakland, oh she wasn't about to go to any hospital to get check out and have the Hale named shamed, she turned into a somewhat criminal buying illegal narcotics off the street in order to control the pain from the abuse she had gotten on a nearly daily basis. She took a drink of water and slid the bottle in her purse. She only took the strong illegal pills when she really needed to. Otherwise it was over the counter Motrin.
Making sure she looked presentable Cassie got out of her car locking it and then going inside.
"Good morning hun. Do you think you could get the Funeral Home order ready? Skeeter will be by later to pick it up." said Rita.
"Sure no problem." said Cassie.
"Are you okay?" Rita asked.
"Yea I'm fine." Cassie lied. No she hurt like hell. Though she got to work and worked through the pain.
When it was time for lunch she walked to the diner and picked up lunch for herself and Rita. She watched all the happy families and couples along mainstreet and wished she had that. Not the life of hell she was currentally living in.
She ordered a burger and fries for herself and a soup and salad for Rita. She was currently trying to get pregnant with Eli and they haven't been having much luck. Deciding to get her mind off of her problems she decided to ask how it was going.
"So," Cassie began as she took a bite of her burger. "How is the trying going? Are you having any luck?"
"No it's not going all that great. The doctor said it wasnt' either one of us. We have an appointment with a fertility doctor and we are looking into fertility drugs. Figures crossed it will work." said Rita as an older attractive woman and a guy with prostetic hands walked in.
"Hi I'm having trouble with my lily's. I just can't get them to grow." the older woman said.
"Half of mine never grow past the bulb. Violets are tricky. If you want to bring them by I'll take a look." Rita offered.
"How do you grow them? It has to be a delicate balance of sunlight and water. Also they cannot be in too much heat." said Cassie.
"Greenhouse, facing north. Are you okay sweetheart? You seem to be holding yourself."
"I'm fine. Just pulled something while cleaning the house." Cassie lied to the Queen of SAMCRO. She didn't want them in her business and she didn't want her boss finding out because then she would tell Eli who would take action, and thus it would all go bad for her. On the other hand if the MC got ahold of him he would be put in the ground and then Jacob would be after her. Trouble all around that she didn't want or need.
"If you say so. So how is the fundraiser going?" Gemma asked Rita.
"Not good. We need seventy thousand to save the gardens. I've been trying all I can, but it's up to donations now." said Rita.
"Well be careful. Hale might fire your husband if he sees this." said Gemma pointing to the sign. "Get in the car Chucky." she said as she left.
"Well that was interesting." Cassie muttered.
"She has a good heart, she's just too much at times." said Rita. "You sure you're okay?" she added.
"Yes I'm fine!" Cassie exclaimed throwing her hands in the air as she went into the back to continue on getting the order ready forgetting about her half eaten burger and fries.
A/N: David Hale survived the driveby and the being run down and now is as big of a prick as his older brother. Enjoy. Pairing ideas welcome. Though Jax is with Tara. Sorry I love those two!
