Milky looked blindly around. She hadn't opened her eyes yet. It's time. She thought. She slowly opened her eyes to see a brown cat. It didn't look like it had legs but it probably was on them.
"Mother?" She mewled. Milky poked her mother with a paw. It didn't move. She then noticed something was on her mother's head.
"Ah-ha!" She exclaimed and pulled it off.
"Mom wake up!" She poked her 'mother's head. A dark brown color was on her paw.
"Oh, you want me to be brown." She thought out loud. She then rubbed against her mother's head. A majority of her fur was brown, but it was sticky too.
"Yeck. Mom, I'm sorry I can't be like this." She said. She went and washed the water off in a nearby puddle. Then, a dark cream shecat walked into the clearing.
"Milky! You opened your eyes! I'm so proud of you!" The shecat exclaimed.
"Who are you?" Milky shecat looked stunned but answered.
"Gold, your mother."
"Your not my mother! This is my mother!" Milky laid down beside her 'mother'.
"I'm your... Auntie. Your mother said I have to give you milk."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"No."
"Yes."
"Good." Gold finished the argument. Milky looked confused then noticed what had happened.
"You tricked me!" Milky exclaimed angrily. Gold shrugged it off and said,
"Your mother doesn't have any milk. She wants me just to give you milk."
Milky sighed. She knew she had to go with it.
3 moons later.
Milky picked up her mom. Her auntie only gave her milk. She showed her mom to a few of her new friends, Blueberry and Tea. They both had housefolk and were pets. Their mother was Elzi and their father was Titan. She found them just outside of their fence.
"Hey Blueberry and Tea. I brought my mom like I promised." Milky ran over to them. Blueberry was a blue-gray she and Tea was a pale she with flecks.
They were stunned when Milky had her mother in her mouth. As if Blueberry understood she believed this was her mother she said,
"Hey, I knew your mom! Her name is Mascara."
"Cool! Where's Elzi and Titan?"
"Out walking."
"Should I bring my mom back tomorrow?"
"No your mom needs rest."
And with that, Milky put her mother down in a comfortable spot and played with Blueberry and Tea.
Later that day...
"Aunmphie!"
"Who?"
"You!" Milky exclaimed. She set her mother in her nest of leaves she had.
"Auntie guess what!"
"What?"
"Blueberry knew mom!"
"She did?"
"Yes she said her name was Mascara."
"She's right."
"Of course she's right!" Milky exclaimed excitedly
"Calm down, Milky. We all know your mom's name is Mascara now."
"Okay." And with that, Milky sat down in her nest and went to sleep.
3 moons later
"Mom, Auntie, look!" Milky yelled. She then stalked unsteadily towards a leaf and pounced. She landed on the stem but sat up triumphantly.
"Good job!" Her Auntie yelled back.
"Can I go see Blueberry and Tea?"
"Sure."
Milky ran to Blueberry and Tea's place. She only found Tea, who looked like she had just lost her life.
"Tea?"
"Milky?"
"What's wrong?"
"Blueberry's missing!" Tea sobbed. Elzi and Titan popped up on the fence.
"Don't worry. Our housefolk are searching for her." Elzi tried to comfort Tea.
"Oh Tea, I can't believe it!"
"Me neither."
"I feel terrible."
"Why?"
"Terrible as in like you, I feel dead."
"How did you know I felt like that?"
"The look in your eyes."
"Oh."
"I'll leave you three alone now, Mom and Auntie must be looking for me."
"Bye."
"Bye." Then Milky ran off.
At home
Milky was miserable. Nothing could cheer her up. She rubbed her whiskers against her mothers head. They became twice as long.
"Auntie! Mom made my whiskers longer, see!" Milky said happily for the first time since she heard about Blueberry.
"Why yes she did!" Her Auntie said sarcastically happy.
"Oh mother..." Milky whispered.
"I love you."
