On a surprisingly sunny day, a bright ray of light shone through the little window of a small room in a fair sized London flat. This tiny ray of light just happened to land on the eyes of a sleeping woman, awakening her quite earlier than she was accustomed to. She rose from her bed and slowly prepared herself for another long day of scouring the city for a job. Her fire-like hair was easily brushed and rested peacefully on her shoulders as she applied makeup to her already beautiful face. She had begun dressing for the day when she was startled by a call from down the hall.

"Donna, you up yet?" called the shrill voice, who undoubtedly was her mother.

"Yeah mum, been up for a little while, almost ready to pop out for the day" Donna replied quickly as she threw on a jacket and proceeded to the kitchen. In the kitchen waited a quaint breakfast of bacon, eggs, and toast, as well as a smiling old man, happily reading the Sunday post.

"Morning Donna" said the man

"Morning gramps" she replied, greeting her grandfather with a small kiss on the cheek.

"Hurry now and eat your breakfast, you have to get off your lazy behind and get a job today" interrupted her mother.

"Gotta make us Nobles proud" added her grandfather with a wink. Donna smiled at the old man, who had started stealthily arranging her breakfast to look like a happy face. The breakfast banter continued in the Noble household as Donna finished her morning meal and left the house in pursuit of finding a job.

Donna didn't really specialize in anything important , she was average in everything, that's why the job of being a temp was perfect for her. She was a wiz with basic office duties and other temp related activities that aren't important enough to describe, and not really relevant at the time being. Donna used to have a nice job as a part-time secretary for H.C. Clements, but for some odd reason could never remember why she left, or even when she left at all.

Walking down the street on her way to the temp agency, she got to thinking about her old job, which got her trying to remember the end of her time there. This soon lead to her pondering other things that her friends swore had happened, but she could just not remember no matter what. It seemed like months of her life had just disappeared, it still felt like she had lived them but they felt empty and fabricated, not real like her life before. She tried harder and harder to remember, so hard that she almost overshot the building she was heading to, thankfully catching herself at the last step, saving herself from the slight embarrassment of retracing her steps.

As she reached for the door a funny looking man in a bowtie and fez opened the door from the inside and motioned her in. Donna half-smiled politely at the man, not wanting to seem rude but secretly judging his fashion choice.

"Good luck and have a nice day Donna Noble" said the man as he tipped his fez, flashed a smile, and left the building hastily.

"Thank- wait! How do you know my name?" Donna questioned as turning around. The man was already gone, the last she saw of him was his silhouette stepping into an old blue police box. Strangely Donna didn't find this odd, at first it seemed a bit familiar but then she snapped to her senses and began questioning why such a strange man would have such a strange old box, and huffing about in her typical Donna fashion.

She continued on with her day, and eventually with her life but in the back of her mind, she always remembered the funny looking man dressed in a bowtie and fez. Like an old friend one hasn't seen in years, Donna often reminisced to herself about that man, feeling like she had known him before. Maybe in a different life.
